  1. Thanks Tardcore that makes sense, the amp is fairly new (6 months), its an integrated Cambridge Audio Topaz SR20 and does 100watts power out, so supposedly can handle things fine. I am thinking of upgrading to the Cambridge CXA80 though as I like their gear. https://www.cambridgeaudio.com/products/cx/cxa80But, it doesn't have phono input.. Any thoughts are welcome.
  2. I'm a bit of a hi-fi novice and have a query regarding my speakers... I've recently updated from some Polk Audio RTiA1 bookshelves to some Monitor Audio Bronze 5 floor standers, I'm happy with the sound of the new speakers, but have noticed I have to turn the amp up about 4-5 notches more from before when playing vinyl to get the same amount of volume out of them. Is this because it takes more to power them from the amp compared to the old, smaller speakers? Probably a dumb question, but I'd like to know whats going on there.. Cheers.
  3. Got a pair of Monitor Audio Bronze 5's as an upgrade to my set up. I've only had them for two weeks, but they are sounding better and better the more I listen to them... http://www.audioadvisor.com/prodinfo.asp?number=MRBS5
  4. Updated set-up, new floor standing speakers. These are my sexy new Monitor Audio Bronze 5's to replace my Polk Audio RTiA bookshelves. I did a lot of research into what to get in my price range and these were hard to go past, very good online reviews. I demoed a few other brands, but these came out on top for great sound and looks. http://www.trustedreviews.com/monitor-audio-bronze-5-1-review
  5. Thanks, yeah it is, it's a 50" Ultra Hi-Def Samsung, 2015 model. I've only had it for less than a month, I'm happy with it.
  6. New apartment meant some new furniture and speaker stands for the set-up was required...
  7. Second-hand: New Order - Get Ready. Original 2001. This is a grail for me, have been wanting this one for years on vinyl, and found one on Discogs that was still quite pricey, but not crazy money like it can be... So stoked!!
  8. Have updated some of my music listening equipment, still running the Polk RTi A1's which I enjoy, but may update them in the near future... Purchased a new Rega RP3 with an Elys 2 cartridge to replace my RP1... Very pleased with this update, it has a better platter made of glass and a better tonearm, I can definitely hear quite a difference in sound quality over the RP1. I changed up the plinth colour from the light grey to the dark. And a new amp, the Cambridge Audio Topaz SR20 to replace my Pioneer VSX-521 receiver... I had to get something that would not only make listening to vinyl sound great, but also still be able to run my TV, Blu-ray and Sky TV (cable) through it and this unit ticked all the right boxes. Pumps out 100 watts per channel and has a built in DAC too. Adjustable bass and treble have really made listening to vinyl come alive.
  9. New: Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds ‎– Abattoir Blues / The Lyre Of Orpheus
  10. Managed to get the last set from a local store of the Expedit shelving in the size and colour I wanted yesterday... Nice to get my records all in order instead of in stacks on the floor in the spare room, unfortunately I filled it up straight away. The rest of my LP's stayed in the smaller Expedit so there is room there to expand...
