Geographically caught between the melodic emo capital of Gainesville, Florida, and the hardcore beatdown spots of the East Coast cities to the north, JUST DIE captures these two sounds in an impressive blend that really works. The band is tight, with killer guitar licks and great drumming, and the singer has an especially conspicuous, raspy voice that carries them one step above the pack of current hardcore sounds. Think of a slightly tougher STRIKE ANYWHERE or a slightly more emo version of CARRY ON, and you'll get the idea. I can see these dudes getting big." -BG, MAXIMUMROCKNROLL 320 "Furious, speedy hardcore that didn’t forget to pack the melody along before it explodes out of the gate at a hundred MPH; strong songwriting and definite nods to everything from ‘80s skate rock shredding to soaring choruses reminiscent of Hot Water Music. A hell of a six song 7” by this band from Asheville. I’m glad I got exposed to them." –Jake Shut, Razorcake (SELF AWARE/DEAD END)
  7. Dan, I am so bad at this. I should have "I Hate Myself" to you soonish.
  8. Stephen from Anberlin married one of my best friends from college. Whether or not I like what his band is doing at the time, he will always be backed. One of the nicest guys I have the pleasure of knowing. His band mates are nice as hell too.
  9. I should be able to finally record mine and shoot it over to you by the end of the day.
  10. Woah, that is an awesome idea. If it isn't too late, and if I can record/learn one in time, I would love to do an 88 Fingers Louie song. They are a favorite of mine.
  11. I call 88 Fingers Louie, if I can record it in time.
  12. Hey Hey! I am just calling myself boring, Matt Evans. I hope you like it! It is solo stuff.
  13. I recorded a 3 song demo. You can download it here: http://www.mediafire.com/?jzzlitgy2mm For the lazies, check out "Studded Jackets" here: http://mattevans.bandcamp.com Hope everyone on the board is well. It is colder than it has been here in Asheville.
  14. I watched this last night. My only complaints: - the storyline is very, very narrow. - the acting is pretty weak Other than those things, it was pretty cool.
  15. 4 sure, i don't think the moving castle usually puts on hardcore shows, but strangelight and treasure town often do. Awesome. I e-mailed all 3. Justin from the board also gave me some contacts. I have a few friends in Chicago as well, but it's giving me hell. Thanks for the help!
  16. Hey Friends!!! I am trying to wrap up tour booking and my contact in Chicago fell through. Would any of you be willing to help with a show on July 8 in the Chicago area? The band is Just Die!, from Asheville, NC. FFO: Sick Of It All, Strike Anywhere, Kid Dynamite. http://www.myspace.com/justdiehardcore We would really love to see the city again! Thanks, Matt Evans
  17. Thanks! Just Die! is playing the Scene Unity Show for Significant Records in Tampa on July 3.
  18. Got it, listening now and it was well worth the wait! Haha, thanks guys. Matt, I'm assuming it's cool to play this on my podcast? That would be great!!! Also, please pass the link along to your friends. I'm stoked you like it!
  19. It downloads and then when I go to unzip it, it asks for a password. This happened on two diff computers. Sorry for all of the trouble, it seems to be working for everyone else with no password. I will re-up it tonight and send you the re-upped link. Thanks for the interest!
