  1. The art is the same, but it's a pocket sleeve this time. Assorted colors of un-coated paper, as a tip of the hat to the original pressing. Label art. Insert. Music. Sounds the same as last time, as it's the same metal parts, pressed at the same plant. I'm really excited to be involved... it's been in the works for a while. Whooo!!

    Also up now:

Ghost Mice / Saw Wheel LP

Ghost Mice / Saw Wheel CD

Ghost Mice / Saw Wheel LP+CD

This is another of our experiments. Curious to see what people decide. The LP+CD comes with a CD that includes the art, not just a loose CD. FYI.

  2. I believe some/all of the Replacements LP's were reissued on coloured vinyl, it is these I'm particularly after, but any that weren't as well!

I'd pay cash, but I'm fairly broke at the moment, so if you'd prefer to trade, PM me a link to your wants lists and we'll take it from there!!

    Thanks

A year ago you could get several of these from Twin Tone. Dunno why I didn't. Some on colored vinyl too. They still have Stink and Hootenany on black from what I can tell.

  3. -- How many people have EVER had a record in their collection warp after they owned it (not aquired warped)? Seriously, ever? I mean if you store your records in a normal way... has that really happened to anyone?

-- I have dropped records and mangled them that way, but the weight of the record would not have helped that. Idiocy is not prevented by a heavier record. Not that I'm an idiot. I just smell that way.

-- Virgin vinyl is what most records are pressed on. Technically, high quality re-grind vinyl is better than 1st-run. As long as it is from a pure source, not random, and is free of paper bits, etc. I got records in the 80's that were pressed on crap regrind and it was sad (mostly Euro imports). Bad sound, bits of paper, etc.). You all own a lot more regrind records than you realize. And they sound awesome. Or not, depending on my opinion of your musical taste. And dress sense.

  4. Definitely NOT United. They do so much business with major labels that they have employees specifically to listen to masters to try to find, identify, and list all of the samples to make you get clearance for them.

URP was raided a few years back by the Feds and the building was on lock down by armed agents. No shit. Ever since then, they play BY THE BOOKS, and they work very hard to be perfect.

  5. Most pressing plants have a clause in their terms of business that holds them harmless against any litigation resulting from copyright infringement

That does not actually indemnify them. It is just a notch in their favor. If they get popped by the feds and roll over, then they will face lesser penalties. So... its just a step they take, but they are still fully liable. SO... do your best NOT to place the plants in a vulnerable position. Especially URP. They WILL catch anything, even stuff you did not. Like when you did not realize the band recorded a cover. (Just a scenario, not something that I experienced).

Don't do drugs. No nukes. Eat your vitamins.

  6. i put this on ebay because i am in mucho need of a new automobile thus needing a down payment. i drive a 1986 honda prelude and the wheels are about to fall off so thats where any money was going to. if you don't like me selling a record then fuck off it's mine to sell. ;D

I agree that anyone who buys anything, anywhere, then owns whatever it may be. They are free to do with it what they will. INCLUDING mislead the public with inaccurate information. No question about it. Free market capitalism. It's cool that other people will take it on themselves to get the correct information out there. Sometimes sellers are genuinely mistaken and can use the help. Sometimes they operate with the "buyer beware" mentality that if you are stupid enough to fall for it that it's your own damn fault.

Whatever the case may be here --and I'm FAR too busy to read 5 pages of posts to figure it out-- PLEASE REMEMBER that record labels can (and do) decide who they sell their "cool" and "weirdo" records to. No Idea does have a shit list. Ask around. I think whispers of it have circulated, but it is true. You want to sell a record a year later, cool, whatever. You want to do it a week later, maybe you miss the next cool thing. Just throwing that out there.

Watch out for each other... and be nice to each other. Then everything is cool.

-- Oh wait, I forgot to include an emoticon. :'(

  7. HOT WATER MUSIC moonpies 7"

    black vinyl

    -- probably first pressing --

    yes: run off groove inscriptions

Covers slightly bent on the opening edge. Nothing a normal human would care about, but if your collector nerd specs are fine tuned, you will fart doritos. So take that as you will.

-- i will not post photos. Got no time for that.

    first come, first served.

OFFERS EXCEPTED FOR 24 HOURS. No offer over $30 or under $10 will be considered. Shipping is extra to anywhere in the world except those sketchy countries. Payment by Paypal (from Available Funds = even better). Will consider other forms of payment. Example: ERGS! "Up/Down" on whatever color the first press was... Gold? Vintage SW toys, Pushead toys, (But please, no trade lists with youth crew, revelation, victory, or related records. First Minor Threat 7"? Sure, but then you'd also have to be crazy.) Do not pass go. Do not pass go, do not collect $200, do not feed the bears, keep your arms and head inside the ride at all times, don't do that or hair will grow on your palms, etc.)

-- Before anyone asks, I'm still filtering through those other lists. If you don't know what I mean, nevermind. Shhhh.

  8. wait so did all of these go out, var? i live in sofla and it seems like people that don't live in florida at all have gotten them

I kinda bummed out Matt and the crew when I put the 180s up for sale... they were already slammed getting the other records assembled and shipped. So I added 100 MORE orders on top of that. Ha!

I packed Hickey's order and mailed it that day, myself. I kinda knew that was a bad idea, as he'd get his a few days before everyone else, but what the heck. He "won" right, haha!

There were probably 8 of those tests made. That was the standard back then. The record was cut like 3 times, so I don't remember if it was 8 copies with both sides (one side a reject) and then 8 one-sided (reject) and then 8 one-sided (good)... or what. I just can;t remember. But my gut says it was cut 3 times in some form. Maybe it was twice. Maybe only the one round was one-sided? Who knows now? Not me.

  9. No OSHA standards.

Doesn't it freak you out that you cannot MAKE the raw PVC vinyl that records out of in the USA? The EPA will not allow it. Neither can you manufacture soft-vinyl, like the material dolls and things are made of. Too toxic. Of course PVC is more stable than the soft stuff.

-- Any pressing info on this LP? I want to score a pretty color some day, becasue I particularly like the songs... and am wondering what colors are out there. I'd like to believe there is a standard translucent blue for some reason.

  10. So bummed out. Got home to find the record release and regular version and the box had a crease in it and opened up the box and both of the records are warped really badly. FUUUUUUUUCK!

So I just got my Forever and Counting on a nice clear orange and that box was all bent w/ a crease in it and the vinyl is really warped too. Thats 2 packages in a row from No Idea like that. I think Var is playing soccer w/ my orders. This one even had a stamp saying do not bend. Weird thing is I got 2 other packages that were the same size (one from Deathwish and one from VC) and they were both perfectly fine. Im wondering at what point the USPS is fucking these up. This one seems to still play but its REALLy bent.

This is completely weird. Weirder still, the record you mailed back to us is TOTALLY FLAT... without any sign of warping. I can only scratch my head at that one. I say we run the same experiment again: take photos of the warped record and then mail it back to us. Freaking WEIRD. Twilight zone shite going on here!

  11. get ben snakepit to draw up some new art

I would love that. For Hello Bastards, you should just go ahead and use the Housemartins art and be done with it.

Or that one LP on Bluenote the Housemartins ripped off?

Kinda like local metal bands in the late 80's covering Metallica's cover of Killing Joke or whatnot?
