  1. Title says it all. Looking for the clear version. I'd rather buy, not much to trade really. Thanks. OR, as suggested below, I'll buy the black one, thanks! DONE!
  2. Cool, thanks. I wish they'd tell you why the rejects were rejected though.
  3. Yeah that's what I ended up deciding to do. I used to put it on and off my old/crappy TT because it was easy. I keep the dust cover on when not in use so it's not worth it.
  4. Set mine up, took me a while to get the tone arm balanced because I'm OCD. Love it! Even with my crap amp/preamp (saving for better eventually) it it killer. Anyone with this find it tough to snap the protective guard for the stylus back on? First time I tried putting it back it slipped and it grazed the stylus giving me a heart attack. Luckily it still plays fine, no observed damage. But even when I tried a second time I just couldn't get it easily. Now it's exposed (with the dust guard over the whole table) because I played some more music and couldn't get it the 3rd time. I'll try to snap that back tab in and I just can't get it without applying what I feel is too much pressure (fear of sliding the guard across the needle again.) I don't know if it's me or if they're just SOB's to snap back on easily.
  5. I thought all my colored vinyl would look cool on red. Even the clashing, I'm kinda tacky sometimes. OUT FOR DELIVERY! Man I'm gonna be stalking the window all day waiting for this to show.
  6. I think it was a bigger misunderstanding. They told people directly they were shipping overseas but the catch was no stores overseas could carry it. When, as far as I understand, NONE could be sold outside of the US even by their site. I think someone over there just screwed up and misunderstood is all. DWRC made it super clear from the start. They couldn't even sell to subscribers. It happens though.
  7. I'm not so sure that was a lie as much as it was a misunderstanding of legal agreements. Anyway, mine shipped! Woooo!
  8. Ordered my color versions from an American seller on Discogs for way less then Invada direct, saved me $25 bucks overall for both.
  9. That was fast, I ordered yesterday afternoon and UPS says it's slated to show tomorrow! What color did you go with?
  10. I tried the coupon code on the used one too, haha, couldn't hurt to try. But seriously, the EBate thing worked for me, so yeah, about $325 shipped, overall $75 worth of savings. It didn't hurt I had some paypal money sitting around too.
  11. Cool, I'll bite the bullet. If this thread wasn't created I wouldn't have checked the other to see the sale. The words "DEAL" drew me in, so it's served it's purpose and is right enough for me. Now I need to decide on color. I like the idea of a red or yellow one, but not sure I'll wanna look at that for years. It's between blue and black honestly. Bah screw it, red, I'm in Chicago, BULLS! ORDERED. Thanks guys!
  12. So, I was planning on waiting until September to try the U-Turn Orbit. BUT my current TT is jacked. It's a crappy Audiotechna that I got as a gift and it's just not worth the trouble to try and fix (bad wobble, tried a bunch of things, nothing worked.) My budget isn't so great, but I was thinking about the Pro-Ject Debut III, which I'm finding around $300. Should I just ante up and go for this for the extra $40? I hate being so "noobish" about it but thought I'd ask since this is on sale now. I was hoping to spend more like $200 (again, budget, priorities, etc.) and that's why I was interested in the Orbit. But an extra $100 or so could be done if I pushed it.
  13. Maybe see if someone in the US will trade for the Death Waltz version http://deathwaltzrecordingcompany.com/
  14. Because they only have the rights to sell it in the US. Hamburger Records only has the rights to France. Death Waltz has the rights everywhere BUT the US and France. Mondo never should have allowed orders outside the US in the first place. Death Waltz was careful with their Maniac, and didn't let any US or French customers buy.
  15. Oh yeah, I'm not making any direct call-outs, and I'm sure most here are down. Just saying was all.
  16. According to Death Waltz they're not allowed to sell to the US or France. I guess Mondo wasn't supposed to sell to the UK or France, but they did. Don't know if they just said "fuck it" or what? Licensing deals and all. I have both coming, worked out some international buddy system action. Not to be a skeptic, but I wonder how many people really WANT the original Maniac. Like to really listen to. I'm sure plenty here. Not saying anyone here is a dick like that. But I'm sure so much of it's value is based on that it was the 1st Mondo LP and some people HAVE to be complete, even if they've never seen the film or care about the soundtrack. Anyway, that's enough of that. I wonder if Mondo will do re-presses of any of these ever. I know some deals come with limited pressings, like the owners of the music only sign off on you doing so many. I also know Mondo might not be into that. It takes away from their whole "limited" marketing thing. It's a part of who they are. If they kept re-printing posters, they wouldn't sell out in seconds and I assume that's how the vinyl would work. Also, on Mondo's numbering, I never paid attention. I know the order of releases, at least based on when they were up for order on the site, is Maniac, Beyond, Deadly Spawn, Poltergeist, Drive, Oblivion, Raid, Maniac. Not sure if they count the RSD varriants different. Also not sure why they'd skip numbers in sequence.
  17. I personally dislike the Raid music. Even if I didn't know it had a Linkin Park connection, it sounds like it does to me and it's not my taste. I have a feeling a lot of soundtrack collectors are generally not into that type of more modern sound. The ones that sell better or seem more popular are either soundtracks with hints of 70's/80's synth/drone sounds or big, orchestral scores, generally with really strong themes and cues. So all that said, I think that has a lot to do with it. I think Oblivion wouldn't have gone as quick if it wasn't for the fact that ONLY the color version was available on their site. I'm not bashing people's taste, or making a comment about the merrit of the music, just what I think is the reason the Raid stuck around longer than most of the releases. I'm all about this Maniac soundtrack. It's amazing, the movie's awesome, and I like the art for it. I said it before, I'll order one because I like the art, even though I have the DW version coming too. I hope Mondo goes back to more obscure soundtracks though. If they don't, I at least hope for some Elfman or some epic orchestral scores like Conan the Barbarian.
  18. I like the DW version more too. I luckily had someone in Canada get one shipped to them for me, and then they'll ship it to me. It's way more expensive, I know, I usually would just settle with the domestic version. But I'm a big DW fan and like what they did with it. I'll still probably get the Mondo one too. I like the art. Wish it was gatefold too w/more art inside.
  19. When the single LOs are about $20-$25 when imported in, that price sounds like what I'd expect. Awesome package. Ordered.
  20. Sounds good, I played it the other day LOUD. I honestly never spun the red version that came with the BC on it to compare (which I only ordered to get the Secular Haze 10" in the bundle.)
  21. Very cool. Excited to get this too. I really like that album cover honestly.
