Anssi Kippo mastered those Svart releases. He is a cool dude, loves analog sound and hates everything digital . He has hosted lectures here in Finland how analog sound is superior to digital. I bet he did a great job with the mastering!

I think Mika mastered Isis "Panopticon" and "Oceanic" remasters and he made them a bit too clean and honestly a bit boring. But every release is different and those Nesi COB masters could be great.

I can confim that TNO pressing sounds absolutely amazing. I have the 2nd pressing clear variant, got it at used records store here in Finland for a good price. It really has all the brutality and soul that was missing in the remaster.

Edit: I would say that the TNO pressing pulls you in and you don't want to stop listening. While the 2014 remaster feels like background elevator music.

I also had the Shades Of The Swarm box (sold it...). Did not quite like Oceanic in that box. Felt a bit compressed and almost like it was sourced from digital files. But I'm no expert, some other might feel that it sounds perfect.

Daaamn... I actually just sold my 2014 remasters because I tought these would sound different. Haha... Feel a bit stupid now :D.

Listened the Oceanic 2014 remaster after long time today, and still it sounds way too clean and polished for my taste. Felt like all the brutality was gone..

Panopticon 2014 remaster was much better :).

Not sure if I need another copies of the remasters, but if these for some reason would be the original masters then it would be a must buy.

Looks like the Relapse /248 variant turned out very different than the mock up. There is a picture at Discogs. Haha...

Everything in EU store is now out of stock, even black vinyl. Metal Blade must be happy that they decided to release these. If I had unlimited money, I would grab some of those US variants too.

Hopefully these sound good. I had the Mylene Sheath pressing of "Above the Earth..." and it was the noisiest vinyl I have ever owned. I will be so happy if these are better... 🙏

Well anyways, this album will be getting so much playing time that had to get a second copy. Translucent gold is cooool and fits the artwork nicely.

He could have sold hundreds copies of those Agalloch albums but I guess there is some good reason to keep everything so limited...?

Listened the Parallax and Coma Ecliptic EU splatter variants today.  Especially Coma was full of background noise, cracks and pops. Also the printed inner sleeves had some weird dirt inside them. So disappointed because the sound quality and dynamics are really good. But the quieter parts are painful to listen...
