Yup. Wonderful system, eh? Nature of the beast.

EDIT: That's an awful lot for one
storeentity, but I do love Bull Moose and for Koz and RA releases they're second to none with service and reliability of pre-orders.Still, even with seven, with stores rumored to get 1-2 apiece, that would be impressive. But again...Bull Moose.

Knowing what we think we know, how many could they have gotten, really?

Someone's probably going to hate me for this...

Please 4AD, just don't do a jerk move and make the individual releases somehow different than the items in the box. Like the LAD Ryan Adams box set containing downloadable items not available otherwise. I don't think I've heard of or have seen any special inclusions for the box like live versions or import tracks so that will hopefully limit the chances of this happening. Completing a fulfilling collector's set hurts, you know...

The 4AD page is updated. Gives some hope, most...despair.
"Pre-orders are sold out, limited quantities available at indie record stores around release April 21. "

I imagine the pudgy ugly dudes in tennis shoes will be out in droves for this release.

I'd actually rather have it on black so here's +1 for that angle.

We just can't have nice things!
Now, what could have been a relatively brief, otherwise peaceable exchange of vinyl for money online will become an event of actual violence that may put RSD on the map for death toll. Good job 4AD. The blood is on your hands now...
-
So, not just record stores, but RSD specifically, right?

Im going to sound horrible for this...but Im shocked there isn't a vinyl pressing of the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack. Its actually not bad and as of today it has the biggest soundtrack debut since 2009. It is now No. 2 on Billboard top 200.
Its under Republic Records and they are the ones that made pressings of the Twilight and Hunger Games soundtracks on vinyl. Wonder why this one didn't get the same treatment?
Imagine the variant possibilities...shades upon shades...splatter...

Trade pending for SotD. Make me an offer on Ixora if you like!
-
It appears as though Thomas from NoV has answered this for me.
Thomas11:56The release of Interstellar is an unlimited release.So...no flipping I guess. What, no poor quality clear press with uber limited quantities?
-
Do we know if this is limited at all?

Just to let everyone know, I'm looking to trade my Ixora splatter over on the Sale/Trade/Want boards. I bought the bundle for the split and quad cd but got an extra black for keepsies.
-
Have a sealed copy of each. Bought the Lotus bundle for the split and quad cd but don't collect variants. Haven't decided yet, but might be willing to part with the signed screen print that came with the bundle as well. I'd like to find a copy of the Third and Seneca LP, Among the Leaves black, or any older Sun Kil Moon/RHP LPs. Other than that, shoot me a message and we'll see what we can work out.

Yeah, let's be honest. When I saw this come up, it was basically a "crowd fund this Carousel-inspired Mark Kozelek record" campaign.
I almost get the feeling that they're delaying longer with the intended effect being that people voluntarily back out instead of hanging on. I wonder how many of the original orders have already been refunded.

Wouldn't be quite so sure...
CAUTION! This is a LIMITED RELEASE!
And as with all limited releases, we ask that you-
-Only purchase one copy per customer
-Double check payment info to make sure everything is up to date (because wouldn’t it be terrible if it was wrong and you missed out? It happens!)
-Play “The Final Countdown” as you get ready to place your order
-Don’t resell it once you have it. Cherish and love it forever!
-First come, first served. Sometimes we get fewer copies than we think we will.
