I know it's mine because my nickname used to be Goat and I had it signed when I purchased it at a show. Another one I'd really love to have back.

I'm so embarrassed to say. $40. My signature really fits this post. 

In the mid 2000's I thought I was "getting out" of collecting vinyl, so I sold off almost all of my collection. I had orginal presses of Coheed and Cambria IKSSE and Deja that I sold for well below what they are worth now. I also had a clear pressing of Pinback's Blue Screen Life that I sold for super cheap. I don't think I'll ever get over selling those.

I agree completely that Fat hasn't really deviated and Epitaph has put out some complete shit. 
When I was in high school (in the late 90s) both Epitaph and Fat both churned out the best bands. Now, it seems that Epitaph will recognize when a band is on the verge of blowing up and catapult them to that next level. Fat seems to be subsisting just below that. Maybe, I'm off base, but that's where the comparison comes from in my view. 

I don't mean for this to start a "which label is better" (although, I do recognize I'm on the Internet), but it just seems like Epitaph has been getting the best bands. From Propagandhi, The Menzingers, The Lawrence Arms, and now Joyce Manor. Fat definitely has its current active standouts like Masked Intruder, Bad Cop Bad Cop, Strung Out, and Banner Pilot, but don't have the same energy they used to. 

I also realize that Epitaph puts out ALOT of shit, but it's fairly easy to ignore that nonsense.

What do you think? Am I totally off base? Would love to hear what everyone thinks.

Like the title says, I know everyone has a blog, but it would be nice to get some feedback on mine. It's called Octaves In Grooves and you can check it out by clicking here. 

To me it seems like a lot of reviews are filled with bullshit you don't want to read. I'm tryin to make clear and concise entries about the quality of vinyl releases and album reviews. I don't think most people want crazy analogies for their music or even semi-technical terms when reading reviews. So my goal is simplicity always. 

Right now, I'm just covering what I like, when I can. Also, it would be awesome if you followed me on Twitter and Instagram.

I would rather have a ton of records if I had $20K to spend, than any one record.

My wife told me to get a couple albums I wanted.  I'm really undecided about what I should get.  I just discovered Caves - Betterment and I really like it.  I also really like the Cleanup - Sun Life album that is going to be released.  There's also the new Braid record, so many good things coming out, I can't make up my mind.
