  2. I hate being "that guy" but I sent them a polite email about it. I'm not trying to get refunded or whatever I just kind of what them to realize what a bummer it is. At this point I'll just keep listening to the mp3s, kind of defeats the purpose of the whole thing. Part of me has faith after seeing what Asthmatic Kitty did for people who ordered the latest Sufjan Stevens xmas box set. One of the LP's sound quality was for shit, so they apologized and sent everyone a replacement copy. Stunning album though. Took three or four listens to really "get" it, but it's solid. Seems to end a little abruptly, but that'll probably just take a few more listens to work itself out
  3. Yours too, huh? I just put it on and it is extremely distracting on such an intimate album. I've come to expect a small amount of surface noise from new records, but this is pretty unbearable. Never had this issue with the first S. Carey album, nor anything else I've got from Jagjaguwar/SC. I wonder if the plain black would be any better.. Anyone else having this issue?
  4. man if i loved thrice just a teensy bit more i'd definitely scoop those off your hands. enjoy, whoever gets them
  5. Oh! I guess that's what I'm thinking of, I wasn't sure of the details - since Discogs listed two different entries I assumed it was a later press. Thanks for the clarification, and let me know if you ever get tired of it and feel like tossing it aside..
  6. Hello Vinyl Collective! "No Flashlight" is probably my favorite Mount Eerie release, and neither eBay nor Discogs have given me any luck finding one for sale (discogs has one copy from UK, but i'd much rather stick to USA if possible). I don't have a preference whether it is the original pressing with the huge unfoldable cover art or the repress in a normal sleeve. If anyone is willing to part with their copy, I'd be curious to find out what price you'd have on it. Thanks so much, happy hunting!
  7. daaaaaaamn wish i didn't miss out on that Pyramids LP. definitely some of my favorite album art around, haha - nice sale!
  8. Someone posted this on one of the vinyl subreddits earlier - looks like Nonesuch records will be selling the Inside Llewyn Davis LP for $6 on Tuesday, Nov. 5 only. Not sure where the image came from (didn't see it on the Nonesuch sight), so I guess we'll see if it's real or not come nov. 5 Mark your calendars!
  9. After receiving a great review from the folks over at Pitchfork, the small number of LPs Mutual Benefit had for sale on their bandcamp page got scooped up pretty quickly. Thankfully they've announced a 2nd pressing through Other Music Recording Co., with the first 250 pre-orders being pressed on coke-bottle green vinyl. Really nice hazy/glittery relax-on-a-summer-day kind of album. Mutual Benefit - Love's Crushing Diamond Tracklist: 01. Strong River (3:01) 02. Golden Wake (3:17) 03. Advanced Falconry (5:06) 04. That Light That's Blinding (4:03) 05. "Let's Play"/Statue of a Man (3:37) 06. C. L. Rosarian (5:41) 07. Strong Swimmer (7:10)
  10. Hello all! I know these are not the "appropriate" genres for Vinyl Collective, but I'm making some room in my collection and figured I'd offer them up here (and reddit) before lugging them over to my not-so-local record store. Feel free to shoot me a PM with offers/bundles/etc. Shipping would be the standard $4 (US only please). All records/sleeves are a modest VG(some +), and I will happy to include pictures/other details if you ask. Thanks for looking! pat metheny, charlie haden, jack dejohnette, dewey redman, mike brecker - 80/81 $5 pat metheny, lyle mays - as wichita falls, so falls wichita falls $3 pat metheny group - the falcon and the snowman $3 charlie parker, miles davis, dizzy - the complete charlie parker vol. 1 $8 bill evans - alone (again) $5 john mclaughlin, carlos santana - love devotion surrender $3 john mclaughlin - my goals beyond $6 eddie harris - for bird and bags $10 paul desmond - samba de orfeu $10 mccoy tyner - inner voices $3 charles lloyd - autumn in new york $10 flying burrito bros - burrito deluxe $15 doc and merle watson - ballads from deep gap $10
  11. awesome collection! unfortunately most of the albums i'm interested in are a wee bit out of my price range. good luck with the sale!
  12. The only thing I could think of off the top of my head was one I saw recently - Teen Daze Glacier pre-order, $13 on Lefse records. Thanks again!! http://www.lefserecords.limitedrun.com/products/517352-teen-daze-glacier-pre-order
  13. for people looking to stream the album already: http://grooveshark.com/#!/album/The+Bones+Of+What+You+Believe/9031679 i have to agree with booms528 - never listened to these guys but i was blown away after pumping this in the car this morning. only one or two tracks i'd think of skipping. standouts for me are "the mother we share," "night sky," and "lungs." definitely going to pre-order this little ditty!
  14. Looks like Drag City will be reissuing Sun Araw's 2010 LP On Patrol on September 17! I fell in love with that hazy, drugged-out, beach-drone sound after playing a lot of Hotline Miami. When I stumble across original pressings they're up in the $50 range, so it will be nice to have an option that is a little more affordable. Not too many details available, color/download/bonuses/etc. Enjoy! Sun Araw - On Patrol Tracklist: 01. Ma Holo - 8:47 02. Beat Cop - 8:20 03. The Stakeout (feat. W. Giacchi) - 5:18 04. Conga Mind - 14:36 05. Deep Cover - 8:09 06. High Slide - 5:45 07. The Stakeout: Reprise (feat. W. Giacchi) - 6:31 08. Dimension Alley - 5:56 09. Holodeck Blues - 18:54
  15. I am a new member of this community, but this thread alone really illustrates what kind of group you all are. Thank you for this opportunity! That being said, I'd have to go with: John Fahey - America (2-LP 180 Gram Vinyl) from Amazon.com
