  1. Some cool stuff you got here. I always gotta back labels with free bandcamp downloads, that stuff keeps me busy. You guys did Piglet's Lava Land too?

It seems like your Bandcamp houses tapes from across the ocean and your Limited Run store is all US with a completely different selection?

We did the European release and Like Young did the US version :) What a band!

All of the tapes are made and sent out from Ireland, but the Limited Run page has the default currency set to USD. With the Euro sinking in relation to the Dollar, the main difference between the two is that the Bandcamp contains exclusively official, numbered catalogue releases, while the Limited Run also features some extra goodies and off-catalogue releases. The Limited Run page does need to be updated with a few catalogue releases as well, though, cuz it's missing a few.

As far as Panucci's Pizza and Yvette Young vinyl goes, I can only say maybe. A few variables at play. Yvette Young is embarking on a UK tour right now with her band Covet (accompanied by LLR buds Halfsleep), so she'll have solo project tapes wherever they go.

  2. Hey folks,

I help out a bit with Little L Records, an Irish label that's been releasing limited-run tapes (and occasionally records) for the past few years. We've now got nearly 100 releases spanning diverse styles/genres/continents under our belt and are excited for what's yet to come. A few of our most popular release include titles by Panucci's Pizza, flatsound, and Yvette Young.

You can check out our almost entirely free digital back catalogue on Bandcamp.

And read up on our artists or browse our store on Limited Run.

If you've grabbed tapes from us in the past, it'd be cool to see some pictures!

  3. Ugh ugh ugh, don't remind me. Never liked him

Hope they don't go the way of Birdtapes but it's looking more and more like that.

    what happened?

also, do you think New Alhambra tape POs from Orchid Tapes will come with a DL code? because i don't imagine OT gets clearance from RFC to put up free downloads of that particular record.

  4.

Thank god most Facebook users don't know about VC.

i guess RFC really loves signing trash

their roster is getting more and more full of garbage all the time

Adam Breneman They love making money. All these kids are just jumping fads and buying whatever they put out. Two years ago it was about grunge revival, now it's shoegaze and lofi indie pop

i'm assuming this is humorous / in response to Teen Suicide signing to RFC? or am i totally out of the loop?

  5. Yeah that sucks but Lucky Number is from the UK so I think that's why. I live in Europe so it's nice for shipping to be cheap for me for once

i was thinking of shipping it to Ireland since i'll be there this summer, but the shipping is nearly as expensive as to the US. same to mainland EU.

  6. Say who are these Lucky Number folks anyways did he just get singed by them because they just pressed DSU too

i always assumed he signed the UK/EU rights to them for DSU while planning to maintain a partnership with Orchid Tapes in the US. seems odd someone as successful as he would enter into an exclusive deal with a non-North American label. makes very little business sense. perhaps we'll see an announcement from Orchid Tapes soon.

with Haze Tapes and Birdtapes (who released the original runs of TRICK and RULES on tape) both dissolving, i guess it makes sense there was never a netlabel / indie label push to resurrect these records. hmm.

  7. how the fuck are these things $35?

maybe because it's Lucky Number (UK) pressing them. don't know much about them, but they certainly have exorbitant LP and shipping prices. Alex himself doesn't seem like the kind of guy to scalp his fanbase (which is by and large North American…). kind of a shame, especially since it won't get the loving / colored vinyl Orchid Tapes treatment.

torn on whether to buy or not… much rather give Alex and co. my money directly… mixed feelings.

  8. Great news with that split with Lost Trail. I have a CDr of theirs available in my distro, released through Twice Removed Records here in Australia.

I did ask Gavin at Twice Removed if he would consider doing vinyl releases for his new label 'The Long Story Recording Company' but he certainly wasn't confident about doing them. Maybe you might ask?

Might sound good through a Sonic Meditations release, or Experimedia, or even Blue Tapes who i mentioned in a previous post, who are just now branching out into vinyl.

right on! twice removed are great, and i'll be sure to ask. hadn't heard of Blue Tapes, and i'll be sure to check them out / approach them as well.

    other suggestions welcome, too!

  9. thought i'd jump in here and share my ambient / sound collage work as Leaaves (name-your-price downloads!). i've most recently put out a tape on Illuminated Paths – it's a cohesive suite of piano and guitar works, with field recordings, detailed sampling, and lots of reverb.

i'm currently working on a split LP with drone mainstays Lost Trail, and it's gonna hit hard. we're looking for additional labels anywhere across the globe to help put it out on 12" vinyl (we've got a few labels spearheading the project already), so if you're interested or know of solid labels to check out, i'd appreciate it!
