I happened to listen to this again today for the first time in a few months and I liked it a lot more than I did back in January. Not record of the year but definitely a solid album

So I emailed asking about if there would be a vinyl copy to preorder anytime and got this in response

Maybe it is delayed, lots of stuff seems to be these days. His webstore still lists it as coming out the 18th though. I like Lonely Town but is probably my least favorite of what he's released so far

Does anyone know of a cheaper place to order this besides his webstore where the cheapest shipping option is $9? Amazon only has an import listed for $48 for some reason.

I went to preorder but passed for $32.50, way too much for something not even limited to a specific number. If I want a cool looking color copy of this album I'll try to get the hot topic version.

Hows the sound quality on the White Stripes? I may pick one up when Bull Moose puts leftovers up on monday, otherwise I'll hold off for the black reissue

Yeah the pricing was shitty all over the place today, $19 for a 2 track Florence and the Machine single. $40 each for U2 and The White Stripes. $10 for every single 7" at my store too. For the price of the White Stripes and any rsd 12" you could buy the entire Shins discography on vinyl

Two albums I really wanted were the U2 and White Stripes but I passed for $40 each. TWS is being reissued soon anyway and I already paid $36 for the standard edition U2 record so this deluxe edition just felt like a cash grab. I walked in grabbed the Decemberists record, something actually worth what it cost, the sleeve is really thick and it has a nice booklet. The only thing I'm going to worry about getting online monday is the Twenty One Pilots 12", everything else I wanted like Father John Misty I'm not going to worry about tracking down.

Only wanted the FJM and Twenty One Pilots and I went to 3 stores and none of them had it. Two never even got either release and the other only got 2 of each. I just ended up getting the Decemberists reissue and some Third Man 7"s. Didn't do to good this year

Super excited for this, Band of Horses has one of my favorite albums of all time and Iron and Wine is always enjoyable. New collaborative album Sing Into My Mouth comes out on July 17. Apparently there's no vinyl preorder right now though through that link thats on the youtube video. That Twenty One Pilots release is in Chris from Bull Moose 's video so I'm pretty stoked thats not delayed. This year thats the only thing I need. I'll pick up the Father John Misty and Foo Fighters and a few other things if they're not overpriced (my local shop tends to mark stuff up but I can wander in 3 hours after opening and still grab what I want)

I really like it, very catchy. I love the new direction he's going in, its an 80s sort of thing like Battle Born but improved.

What happens with the delayed titles? Stores just put them on the shelves with everything else once they're received or is the label in charge of distributing them online or something?
