  2. Jump Start is excited to finally announce the release of Astpai's latest seven inch, The Scavenger. You can stream all five songs from the digital download right here: http://www.jumpstartrecords.com/streams/jst061/index.html The first pressing of 300 comes on baby blue-ish vinyl and features the songs "The Scavenger" and "Of Imposition and Instinct" as well as a digital download coupon for all five songs included in the digital release. Pre-orders are up and all pre-orders will enter to win a chance at a press test copy of the seven inch! You can pre-order a copy right here: http://www.jumpstartrecords.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=JSR&Product_Code=JST-061&Category_Code=001 The Scavenger is Astpai's first here in the States since 2008's Corruption Concealed and leads up to the release of their brand new full-length, Heart to Grow, which will be released here in the States this coming August on Jump Start. If you're never had a chance to check these guys out, fans of bands like None More Black, Samiam, Trial By Fire, and Kid Dynamite might find something that interests them! The Scavenger will be available everywhere digitally on March 2, 2010 and the vinyl will be shipping the same week as well!
  3. all our stock from WEA is back and we also got our lost DHL package, so any backorder items are in and will be shipping ASAP. thanks for your patience and support!
  4. flat rate boxes won't work most of the time. none of them will fit 12" lps, and that's the main reason they suck. they're just a tad to small. they work well for other things though. media mail isn't very reliable in our experience. a lot of stuff is lost in the mail and/or takes a million years to get to get to you. plus, you get free delivery confirmation when you ship via priority mail through us. everyone should be using UPS anyway. it may cost more, but they're more reliable than any other shipping company, and if your stuff gets damaged we can easily replace it because UPS offers free insurance on every package for the first $100 of it's value. if you care about your records you should ship with UPS.
  5. dhl is still in business, and unfortunately, handles all international shipping for deutche poste, which is where we get our aws lps from.
  6. sweet, thanks! be sure to check out the rest of the stuff we've got too....the new lighten up LP is awesome!
  7. yeah, you can thank the now defunct lumberjack and the henchmen at WEA who still haven't sent us back our stock yet, as well as DHL for being the worst shipping company on the planet for the delay on the AWS records. should be resolved soon. sorry the delay!
  8. still keeping this train going.....free items from the likes of belvedere, the code, the commercials, the readymen, jena berlin, giving chase, and two brand new exclusive t-shirts! http://www.jumpstartrecords.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=JSR&Category_Code=Free those that haven't received their order from last month (and their should be only a small amount of you) because of an out of stock or backorder item, you will have your stuff shortly! also, don't forget our download of the month, belvedere's "angels live in my town"! http://www.jumpstartrecords.com/mp3downloads/dotm/ thanks for your support!
  9. the test press giveaway was announced, at least i'm almost certain, through our mailing list way back when the record went up for pre-sales. was forever ago, but to say we've been dealing with some shit would be an understatement. glad you like the record, jeremy. thanks for picking up a copy. also, just a quick FYI, the test presses look just like the full-length color-wise. first time i've ever had a plant send me full color test presses!
  10. ha! forgot to switch that from last month. in honor of your keen detective skills, i'm going to leave it there for the rest of the month.
  11. we're going to do a free no on 15 shirt for the oh yeah! it's free! sale in the coming months. not sure exactly when, but it'll be soon.
  12. the average IQ in that band was through the roof, but the amount of common sense that steered that band was mind boggling. oh the memories.
  13. zach is one of four former members of no on 15 that have attained the title of Doctor. if anyone knows anything about that band this simple fact will amaze you. hahaha.
  14. as much as i'd like to make all of our records free to download on a donation basis, that model just wouldn't work completely. of the downloads of this month's 'download of the month' less than 1% of the people that have downloaded have donated something, and that's indicative of the culture younger music fans live in these days. i'm not saying that's good or bad, but in the long run, we won't be able to operate for long following that model. also, keep in mind, while the record doesn't cost anything to you to download or for us to post it for download, it still cost something to create, whether that be recording, mixing, mastering, or the artwork (which we still feel is a very important aesthetic of what records are and should be). without going into some lengthy thesis of why we're doing this 'sale', our basic idea is that the punk and hardcore scene has moved on from the days when kids would buy things based on things like hearing bands on a comp or mixtape, or simply buying records because of the label that put it out. there are several reasons for this, but that's an entirely different discussion, and again, not one that i think is either good or bad. things change, move on, deal with it. our decision to run with this idea is that it's more important for our bands and the label for the records to be in the hands of someone that might like the band and support them in the future than sit on the shelves in our office, and that's seeing it from a monetary side as well. in the long run, those records sitting on our selves do no one good, and we feel like we have worked with some great bands and are working with some great ones now too. we hope people will agree, and if you think spending $7 for a shirt from a band you already like is too much, well, you're missing the point of all of this anyway. thank you to everyone that has ordered so far. it really means a lot to kevin and i. we're going to continue to do this all year, and i think one of the parts that we're really excited about is all the cool t-shirts that we'll be doing this year from not only jump start bands, but some non-jump start bands (who we're not revealing yet), and other exclusive one off's like this months 'arctic splash' tees (which you'd probably have to be from the philly area to understand the inside joke) and other ideas we've got floating around. we print all our own shirts in house too! don't know if a lot of you know that. anyway, way to long of a post, but thanks to everyone for your continued support! really means a lot.
  15. or try any release from any other band since everything is so dirt cheap right now!
  16. no problem! thanks for ordering! you'd be amazed at the number of people that only get one of the free items and don't bother picking up something else, either for free, or almost nothing (we are selling ALL our cds for $5, or you can pick select cds 3 for $10). we're really just trying to get people to check out all our bands, not just one or two of them. we think we've got some great bands everyone should check out, and if you think it's not worth picking up 2 cds, an LP, a 7", and few tees shirts for $10 to $12 (domestically), not to mention maybe a record you really do want for a bit more, well, we think you're crazy.
  17. pretty positive kevin has never posted a link correctly, hahaha!
  18. yeah, will change every month, at least, as much as we can (right now we only have four released LPs so until a few of the new ones come out this year, we're going to keep some of them up there for a bit). you really don't have anything to loose. you can literally get 2 CDs, an LP, 3 tees, and a 7" for like $10-12 for almost anywhere in the lower 48 states. hell, even if you don't like the CD you can probably get a solid $2 or $3 at your local used CD store for them! ha. no, really.
  19. no problem! thanks for checking it out! also, we're doing a free download of giving chase's 'a cheap print of a masterpiece' this month as well. head over to this link and check it out: http://www.jumpstartrecords.com/ccount/click.php?id=1
  20. keeping with our theme of "oh yeah, it's free" for all of 2010, here's what we've got for january 2010: http://www.jumpstartrecords.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=JSR&Category_Code=Free i'm sure kevin will follow up on this post, but enjoy! tons of new shit coming soon!
  21. those are the songs on the b-side, kevin. not many left, so jump on this.
