A friend of mine works in customer service and told me about a VERY angry email that someone sent him re: the RHP box set. I guess it got dinged a bit in transit. Dude was PISSED, though - it seemed like it was written by Kozelek himself.

Hey all! It's been a minute since I posted here - I had to take time off for a bit to protect my wallet, it was getting a little crazy with pre-order paypal madness, haha. However, in the meantime, I've had a pretty cool update on a personal note: I just started working at new-ish reissues record label, which is associated with another more established record label. Life's been interesting! Would you guys be up for hearing about records and stuff we have in the works? I'd love to share news, if people are into it. (I'll actually use the label's real names too, in that case.) Wanted to take the temperature on that idea first, though. Thanks!

Just got mine today. So far, it sounds great, but there is some slight noise on the actual song "Love Is Hell" which is unfortunate. I'm going to clean the needle off to be sure, but that's a bit of a bummer.

The only thing I can think of is that Pajo is a huge Misfits fan (and probably all of them are), and they have a song called "We Are 138." Beyond that, I have no idea. Beyond all logic, I actually sprung for one of these - signed copy. Looking forward to hearing the remastered version!

Certainly he would. He may not be the hold-up on it, but he's directly involved, I'm sure. I'm also wondering what the heck happened to the Lemonheads recordings he was working on over a year ago, but who knows.

For those in NYC, I was at Bleeker Street records today and they had a ton of these still available! $30, I believe.

They definitely had a couple copies at Other Music in NYC when I stopped by today.

Yesterday I went back to the rec fair and asked him directly how many he'd pressed and while he was really super nice, he said he didn't know the exact number (which I highly doubt), but just "a few hundred." I guess he's reticent to announce the number because he doesn't want that factor to drive the conversation about the project, which is understandable, since it's something he's very passionate about. I'm working all day today, but hope to open and play my copy tonight!

I attended the WFMU rec fair this evening and Rutherford was in the house, selling a box of these for $20 each. A friend of mine spoke to him and got the impression that the pressing was /1000, and that about 400 were sold so far. I picked up a copy, but didn't get into those details with him. I just told him I liked the project and that if I spotted any good deals on a first press white album, I'd let him know.
