Yes I need to wake up. I don't know the difference between a jewel cased CD and a printed vinyl!!!
Quit complaining about the prices. I read way too much of that on these forums.

And that right there is a great example why prices are the way they are right now. I mean are you seriously happy to pay 30 bucks for this? Really?
I love this album as much as everybody else and I've been torn whether or not I want to buy it and I've decided against it. I've tried using that logic in my head of "well its better than $150" but it's really not. 150 for a record is nuts, 30 for a record is nuts as well.
I'd pay 15 for a single vinyl without complaining just the same as I would pay 30 for a double. Let's try and remember that this is not a cd in a jewel case. Wake up! Printing vinyl is clearly more expensive.

The nostalgia is strong with this one.
It really is. Happy to pay 30 bucks instead of 150 for this.

Tiger's remaster sounds garbage, should have been the original one, same goes to the cover as well...
I disagree. I think the remaster has a lot more clarity and the changes are very subtle anyways. The covers of these albums are what were butchered.

Dog Problems might be the greatest packaging job of any record I own.. So glad I got both DP and I&L. My dog problems had a HUGE seam split in it though. .
I have to disagree. The pop out book style to me is kinda tacky and makes it easier to bend and rip. My copy came in and the jacket had bends and tears all over it so I contacted hellomerch and they seem to be getting a lot of people with the same problem. They sent me a new jacket which also had minor bends and tears. I love this album but I passionately hate this pressing. Sorry for venting.

Why don't they just do a normal kickstarter with reasonable perks? It's not on the fans to make sure they can pay for lodging, gas, touring expenses etc. A $20,000 Kickstarer goal would be reasonable and met easily for them.

I used to work there for a few years. Dimple vinyl (Arden) is great and one of the last record stores in the area. There is always new-used records coming in.

I have a feeling Mr. Swan will have to print more than 250 for this.
-
Wow I'd be kicking myself for passing on both of those.
well i bought dude ranch which gets reissued about 3 times a year. didn't even realize how rare 40 oz. had become since the self titled sublime album seems to be forever in print. keep in mind this was over 3 years ago.
-
I can't believe there has not been a repress on this already
At one point I held this in my hands along with a copy of Dude Ranch at Hot Topic.. let's just say I made a regrettable choice that day.
It would be amazing if they repressed that same version.
-
I must have picked up a better version then from Hot Topic. Non-pixelated artwork, 180 Gram Black...it sounds and looks awesome.
Yeah they definitely released another press that was fixed and it was cheaper I think.

I kinda wonder who's idea it was to make it blue. How does blue go with the album art at all?
Nobody in the band that's for sure. Honestly would have loved to see everything on regular black vinyl. I'm really tired of vinyl colors. I'd rather have black then a color that doesn't really fit the cover.

I'm really surprised Conversation Piece was never pressed considering the label they were on then.
Pretty sure Equal Vision owns the rights. It's highly like to see a pressing fairly soon.
Also, I'd like to see Kurts first Rise band "Five Minute Ride" get a vinyl issue. I was a huge fan of that band.
-
Do you happen to have additional info on the repress variants? Like price to expect. I would personally love Happiness and Self-titled with the original cover art
For the most part we are in the dark as far as the merchandising goes. I assume the individuals will be under $22 since Rise is really good about pricing. I'm just hoping for some gatefold action this time around and different variants.

I just read through the comments on the Facebook announcement, and I really wish I hadn't done that.
My favorite comment that I kept seeing over and over was "Well, there goes the rarity of my box set." Like, shut the fuck up. If you're gonna buy a box set of records just because they're rare and you're never actually going to listen to them, then what's the point in even buying them? So you can post a cute little arranged picture on your social media accounts and then try to sell it on eBay for $200+? So many DGD fans are greedy, ungrateful little assholes.
Anyways, to keep my post on-topic, I think the only one of the albums I'd consider owning more than one copy of is Happiness, because it's my fave. Possibly Acceptance Speech, if they can make a variant better suited to the album cover. Which would be pretty hard to do, honestly.
I get why people are frustrated because they bought something thinking it's rare as fuck and it ends up just being a first press but that is the name of the game these days. I've even had that mentality with shit I would NEVER sell.
I think most labels will continue repressing albums as long as they'll sell and I think it was obvious the discography would get that treatment.

I second this
Figured I'd do one more round of these, just for fun, haha.

Finally a SRC release i actually want.
it's been awhile
-

Yeah me either. It was there, I purchased it.
I'd still like Aziz on vinyl. Passed it up once, haven't seen it since
I bought this too. That is legendary stand up.

Anyone know why the hot topic vinyl listings disappear from the site from time to time?
-
Sugarcult - Start Static 126/500 // White
Without a doubt. I think about selling it but never list it. With that said.. cost + shipping anyone?
I did this too but luckily they emailed me saying it was sold out a week after I bought it and it was all good!!! haha
other than that the only thing I can think of is the Daft Punk LP i bought before anything besides "Get Lucky" was released. not a terrible album but it's not very essential for me to own.

$200 3EB box set (worth it)
$120 on Watch the Throne (thought it would have been extremely limited based on the packaging) still love it
$80 on Juturna (few years ago, at the time was a good deal)
Anything under 60 bucks is forgivable. There is a lot of long out of print stuff I would gladly pay 60 for even with the risk that it will be reissued within a year. I think now days it's safe to assume that almost anything you can think of will be repressed due to the popularity of vinyl.

My non existent n00b panties can't be bunched but you are truly an unpleasant person to have encountered in this thread. Good luck with whining about record prices for the foreseeable future.
