I should've specified - the scenarios are scripted, just as most reality television is produced I do think that there is incredible potential with future wrestling programs being presented in the same style as Total Divas is. The Attitude Era was essentially reality tv before the reality tv boom of the 2000s. There's an old booking philosophy (Jerry Jarrett maybe?) that goes 'tell them a little bit of truth and they'll believe the whole lie' This is in large part why the attitude era was successful in my opinion and the same thing we are seeing with Total Divas.

I would argue that the US doesn't have nearly the prestige as IC to the current WWE audience who are more familiar with Razor Ramon, Shawn Michaels and Mr. Perfect than Jim Crocket Promotions

my issue isn't so much with the current quantity, but the logical purpose of each championship. There's noting inherently "united states" about the championship, and while WWE is an international product, largely all of the championships are defended within the United States. By having a TV champion that defends his title every week, it gives the championship a tangible purpose while also providing a title match every week on raw.

I'm a fan of weight class titles a la UFC, but within the current landscape of WWE I don't see it happening. With the unification at the top, they aren't looking to dilute the title pool anymore, especially at the midcard level by bringing in a new championship. The problem with adding championships is while in theory, it would add prestige and accomplishment to a given talent, it also means less every time a new title is added and as that feat of obtaining a championship becomes less and less special. You didn't ask this but in my perfect world you would have... WWE champion Intercontinental champion TV champion Tag champions
