I ended up getting the a2. Im not sure if I like them yet. They sound great but the highs are kinda lacking.

i know this is a rough subject, but im looking for suggestions on new speakers. im currently using klipsch promedia 2.1. ive been fighting a channel imbalance for a while and after hooking the satelites to a different source i found that one is actually lower volume than the other (which i initially thought was due to the shitty control pod). anyway looking for suggestions, but i need them to be 9" tall or smaller because of where im putting them, and they need to be powered. was considering the audioengine A2+ but i heard they are somewhat lacking in bass (which isnt a huge deal). also considering M-audio AV 40, but i heard these are rather flat overall. Suggestions? and do you know of any stores that have these set up to try?

The end tracks are not less dynamic as you suggested. The amount of volume depletion seems to vary depending on the record, but it is quite noticeable if I play the first track right after the last. I have no clue what could cause this.

last couple records ive listened to the volume at the beginning of the record is louder than at the end, and its the same way on both sides. any opinions? Bad pressings?

Yes dark light would have been nice. I have a copy but its in real bad shape and I dont want to pay $75 or more for a nice one. Here's to hoping dark light and venus doom get pressed next.
