  1. oh yes, he loves them like Egyptians, on the discriptions, his royal highness Sorry. Anyone drops Jazzy Belle, and I come a preachin'. I saw Outkast on their tour last year. Took me back to the mid 90's, thinking I was hot shit because I knew the entire ATLiens albums like the back of my hand. Mainstream has, and always will be, my fav edit: not Jazzy. Meant to type ATL
  2. good for him technology will continue to push certain excellent relics out. It's just tech evolution. Bound to happen. on this note, I refuse to buy a new phone my main shop that I love (landlocked) keeps me informed if they know or hear of anyone, w regards to equipment (even though they don't resell equip)
  3. These folks are still rare to me, but it is only because of my location. Considering vinyl popularity and all, I would think these shopkeepers exist. (I know they do, in Indy) Of course, the college kiddos could just head downtown to UO and buy a Crosley.
  4. If it's a repair/reuse shop, he probably wants $300-500 for the 1200's We have nothing of this nature (resale shop) here in Bloomington. Odd. I take that back. We have one in with a record shop, but I don't like giving that guy any of my business. He jacks up prices on everything to cover his extreme overhead.
  5. gotcha. i'm curious how it works out for you. I know you will keep us posted I read and reviewed the vid and Hoffman forums last night (lp120). I'm thinking those o-rings around the tonearm are a great idea. I never would have thought about those, and I've always used a rubber mat. I've never had an issue with hearing the rotating of the platter while the table is in use. I just really like the idea of the o-rings.
  6. @ Thomas - Did you attempt the surgery on your table yet? I know you were working on your laptop last night, but I didn't know if you had enough energy for the project.
  7. I was just referring to this issue/project Thomas was speaking of w his TT. And you kids w your math problems I'm more than twice your age. My attempt at humor flies low. made me giggle
  8. what eli and thomas said, basically. also, it's too easy to find an address online now. really no point to post it, if it could already be found
  9. First listen, via NPR http://www.npr.org/2015/09/23/441143475/first-listen-eagles-of-death-metal-zipper-down
  10. The power you speak of Thomas is attainable. Speak out. This is how we, as the consumers, fight it. Our best weapon is communication, to get these injustices scoped on the broader landscape of public opinion. It isn't a matter of "will it change" (?) now. It is "when will it" (?).
  11. Discogs has finally entered into apps. Due next year http://www.factmag.com/2015/09/21/discogs-announces-official-app-for-ios-and-android/
