So at the minimum (out of 1000), we've seen 722 be sold at $40. That's $28,880. what do we think the average cost will be for a pressing of about 7500 (this is just an assumption- 1000 of each color way and 5500 of the Black 180g)...Probably $7 per record? Less? Remastering $5k-$10k. So if it's a $5 cost to physically produce records, plus $5k (remastering) they've got $3700 to go before they break even. So when they sell 93 more copies they will be in the positive. Then if they sell ALL the copies at $40, they will make $187,400.00. This is all speculative and assuming a lowerend production cost. Or I could be 100% entirely incorrect. I'm also going to assume that a large chunk of that money goes to Sony/ EVR unless Coheed shelled out the dough to buy their rights back...again all speculation. Just thinking out loud at all of you.

Actually this Hammerstein show is going empty my bank account. TYS + IKSSE3+ Damn Renegades= ~$80 on JUST vinyl. not to mention my ticket was $120. Plus my wife's $120. It's going to be worth it.

I had the same thing yesterday, but magically today it corrects it based on quantity remaining instead potentially allowing someone to spend $40k. Maybe it is 3k like the green SSTB. Either way, I'm honestly shocked there are any left today. I bet there wouldn't be if it were a payday.

I have my fingers crossed that their error in changing it from 180 to standard is ACTUALLY the error and they will be 180g. I also hope that the record is misprinted and actually GA1. Then we all laugh about it in 4 years. Except for that one guy who's still upset because he paid FORTY DOLLARS for a MISPRINT!?

Awwwwwww. No I get it, but what the fuck am I gonna do about it? Not buy it? Not a chance. Maybe that makes me and thousands of others a problem, but then we risk surrendering to the fuckers on eBay who buy most of the copies and sell em' for triple. Yes, I think Coheed is a great band, some people don't think they're worth this dollar amount. Great. I'm glad that opposites exist. It'd be weird if they didn't. However, don't come blantantly and kind of call people stupid for buying something that they want in a thread devoted to said fucking item. Not saying you did, I'm saying dreamover did. It's just ludicrous because it helps no one. Write Travis, Claudio, et al to ask why it's so expensive, or "Will the tour variant be cheaper?" or "why so goddamn pricey?" etc. They aren't difficult to reach. Even if they don't reply they'll get the message. Maybe they'll lower the cost to retailers and the black copy will end up cheaper. All I'm saying is: complaining to VC about this record's cost solves nothing and helps no one. So, PLEASE (I said please here) Cut it out.

I was just making a terrible joke. The point is underlying the context. But allow me to lay it out.Have you ever heard/ read me bitching about the cost of a vault subscription or the fact that TMR sells branded crosleys? No. Because it doesn't help anyone. So, my suggestion is to sell this quarter's terrible Vault release and use the immense profits to buy this album literally for free. And fuck it, keep the flag for yourself. Then you have IKSSE3 on vinyl for no cost to you and a pretty rad looking flag. Edit: the "friends" comment was sarcastic, I figure some ppl will start hating me more for speaking down on TMR. Also, the flag really is dope looking.
