Yeah they do. If a label owns the rights, then that's the case. Hence the "but that's how the business works I suppose" remark. I personally don't like the idea of a corporation/ company/ label owning someone else's intellectual property, but again how it works (often).

I can attest to this. Actually, the only one I have signed is the white HM variant and I had that signed by Claud and Chonny at NYCC. But a lot of the ones sold at shows are already signed. It just so happens that most of mine were retail or internet retail purchases.

Honestly it can be on whatever they make it on and I'd be stoked with it, but I would like them to throw back to the silver colored cover (original CDs were red, silver, or black text) I thought it looked much better than red. Maybe a black and silver/ grey swirl, or hell, just black. I'll buy whatever they were to press.

I'm not going to get into a debate about what who is doing and why. I bought platinum. I will buy a peach.
