so in for this! My favorite Death album and the one of these reissues I've been waiting for most eagerly for sure.
Also, I have the black Roadrunner/Cargo 2007 repress that I obtained three years ago for about 15€ new, just realized now that Discogs says it sells for around 40€ on average - which makes no sense as the (apparently identical) Metal Blade repress is available for about half of that. So yeah, if you're still missing Symbolic that should be the way to go!
-
stripped-down version of "Jet". Absolutely incredible, this makes me look forward to the upcoming release even more.
-
nope, 33rpm. Can only speak for EU standard black (couldn't pass it up for 18€), but it does indeed sound amazing. If you were wondering about 45rpm with regard to quality, I can assure you that this record sounds at least equally as good as most of the 45rpm records that I can remember.

just a little heads up for anyone planning to attend any of the upcoming shows: these guys totally kill it live. One of the best shows I've seen this year. Also, with regard to the hobby™, take note that they have the white w/ red splatter variant with them for sale as well next to standard black. Make sure to ask the merch guy as I saw them hand out standard copies to people who didn't ask for the splatter in specific. They also threw in those goodie bags (not sure if only for purchasers of the splatter or also for standard).
Glad I held off buying until this point - the live show convinced me to give the record another chance and that splatter is surely one of the coolest-looking in my collection.

Can't imagine it'll sound that great if 55 minutes is crammed onto a single LP
yeah, that would be totally like... the original release?

I could totally understand why they wouldn't ship internationally. No blame at all to this awesome label. However, their postings always say "we ship throughout the galaxy", which to me sounds as if they don't really care where people are/where they have to ship it to. They might have some kind of "international limit" though, like only a certain amount of intl. people get a package each time and after that they ship only domestic in order not to drown in shipping costs.
I guess we'll never know, but I'll keep trying because their stuff is cool as hell.

You guys including the quotation marks in the subject line?
I do, but...

I've "won" the last 5 straight giveaways.
... maybe that's why I haven't gotten anything yet despite entering the last couple giveaways with the quickness.
Not really sure if that makes a difference though, probably depends on whether they sort out the mails re: giveaways by hand or have a program with a certain filter do it.

posters look super sleek. Emailed them 5 minutes after the post went up - the quest continues. Come on, IDIB!

I could be wrong, but I think Canada usually gets EU copies.
didn't know that! But then it's even more weird that within the same pressing some copies are perfect while some are so faulty...
-
Interesting.. so it's probably the US/North American version that is flawed and the EU copies are fine?
-
what a time to be alive where Hundredth are mentioned in the shoegaze/dream pop thread. But indeed is their most recent record really 'gazy and atmospheric as opposed to their kind of cliché melodic hardcore sound from earlier stuff. I'll have to give them another chance I guess.
-
so it seems like a couple of folks over at Discogs are complaining about pressing/sound issues with the EU (coke bottle) clear pressing, even single users with multiple copies. Any other EU folks here that can comment on this? I would like to have a nice copy if I spend 27€ (cheapest I could find) as opposed to about 20 for a black copy. This is shaping up to be a great album, but if the pressing sucks I'll gladly reside with the simple version.
-
emailed them 13 minutes after the post was made. So, I hope this means I'm having better luck than the last ~5 times

a friend of mine reported a broken site as well, works fine for me though.
That being said, I'm about 3/4 in and it's totally great so far. Leave alone the opening track maybe, I still think it doesn't really fit.

The new album isn't intense or urging at all I dunno why that's used as a comparison here.
Just a personal impression here. I think it's because of the lyrical content though. While the music on PV was also really laid-back and smoothed-out most of the time, the whole topic revolving around those songs was really grabbing sometimes with all the anxiety and emotional weight that came from those lines. That's what I meant by "intensity". GN seems to be kind of "weightless" in comparison which is no criticism but in fact - as stated above - something that not many bands could have pulled off in succession of a record such as PV.
-
Personally after having listened through it about 10 times now (which itself means it's definitely a good record to say the least) I still find PV to be more intense, more urging. However, keeping in mind the overall feel of the music and lyrical content have turned more or less completely, they pulled off something great here with the new album. Very much looking forward to receiving the vinyl and seeing these guys live in exactly one month!

so, obviously the album art (the photo) has already been used by another artist back in 2011.

My Tri-Colored copy showed up tonight. I never got shipping confirmation from RFC, which is odd.
cool, did you order from the US or UK store? I didn't get any kind of shipping confirmation but I'm also up for a nice surprise. Also, would you mind taking some pictures? How does the pressing sound?

I havent gotten any of these yet.
I was blaming the slow international postal system but now I am sure I wont get them.
Same here, I was always fairly quick entering into the contest, but probably I ran out of luck. It would still be pretty rad to get one of those packages over here one day!
Also, that picture is really cool. They must be moving tons of records, and I definitely don't begrudge it to them.

Also, here's a coupon code for 6131 is anyone wants to use it:

6131 was back up when I visited the store, so I used the code. However it sold out while I was entering my shipping info. Don't know if it will still work for someone else, if not I apologize.

new single sounds really weird to me and doesn't really fit with the other ones released so far. Probably have to give it a few more tries.

how does the yellow sound? Upon first listen I dug the album, but I've seen people shitting on the overall mix of this album (similar to the first LP) and now I'm wondering if spinning the LP will be just a big annoyance.
