Was actually just about to post this same thing.  I can't read what the stickers say on the mock ups.  what's weird is that the link doesn't take you to any options to pre-order.  Just a bunch of links to streaming.

Edit:  Just saw the sticker says "Limited Numbered Vinyl!"

Damn that's pretty stupid. So you can pretty much only swap for the other ROTM or an existing pressing. Oh well. Might cancel if the next month's stuff isn't anything interesting. Glad I grabbed that Crumb album when I did anyway.

Yeah, that's why I said the swap selection was pretty poor.  It was only the Exclusives that are already shipping or past ROTM's.  And they aren't currently doing curated titles so there wasn't any of those to choose from either.

Definitely a weird ROTM. A country album from 1970 doesn't strike me as something that would be under the Essentials record for the month. Although I guess it is on me for spacing out and not swapping it out in time. Would gladly have swapped for the Crumb record if I had remembered.

Crumb actually was released after the swaps closed.  Also,  it looks like now you can only swap for stuff that will be shipping for that month.  I was hoping to be able to swap for the Stars album but it wasn't available because it's not shipping until May.

Was there a demand for that album to even be repressed?  Is it critically acclaimed?  Not familiar with the artist at all, but willing to accept I’m just not in the right demographic for it.  Seemed like a bizarre choice for ROTM, but what do I know?

I think it had been out of print since the 80's and she's a pretty big name in country music so i'm sure there was SOME demand.  But not something I'm into at all.  I ended up swapping for Little Simz.

I used to follow Amazon reviews like gospel, but searching around today I found some weird Chinese manufacturers with 3,000+ 5  star reviews and not a single 4 or below. Read down in the comments to see they just have bots and paid reviews. Now I don't know what I can trust anymore

Yeah, I noticed that they were all 5 star reviews and they all basically had the same 2 or 3 talking points over and over again.  I think the reviewer names were wither similar or the same on most of them too.

I think the OP got their answer, no? The ensuing discussion (at least my contribution to it) was not intended as a counter argument or rejection of their question. If that happened, I'm sorry!

I actually don't know.  They kind of started the thread and disappeared.  I was interested in how they were storing them that might lead to the splits.  But maybe they did get their answer and move on.

No where can I pre-order this new Sleeve record?

  7. I get that seam splits like that don't matter when listening to the record and are pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of things.  That being said... If I was sleeving my collection and had a bunch of records with them and didn't know why I'd be trying to find out why and try to prevent it from happening in the future too.  That's what the OP is trying to figure out.

This seems to be present on a lot of the albums that I am re-sleeving. Is this normal? Or maybe because of something I’m doing wrong in storage?

That usually is something that happens during shipment or if you've dropped a stack of records (unfortunately I know from personal experience).  How are you storing them?

So for those of us within the US with a Crate subscription... does that mean there’s a monthly fee of $6.00, which just enables you to order exclusives for the listed price and $4.95 for shipping?  That’s what I’m interpreting.

That's how I interpreted it since the full thing mentioned "Record of the Month Subscribers" a couple of times.

Are you sure it's sold out? I just joined the Hip Hop track and as of right now it's still allowing me to add the Essentials track to get 3 Feet High and Rising. I'm new to VMP subs so maybe I'm missing someth
    ing here.

3 Feet High and rising is the "Essentials" pick.  De La Soul is Dead was an exclusive they did on yellow/green split that was limited to 1,000 copies.
