  1. Wow, what a huge fail from amazon (or rather a marketplace seller?). Sorry to hear, pal.

Don't really think this'll help but at least you got a decent sounding record out of this,

because from what I've heard on my friend's setup, the repress sounds like total crap. Especially the B side.

I was quite baffled actually. Additionally since current impressions vary so much, cause from what I've heard,

it seems that this will be my worst sounding record so far. (only listened to his copy, haven't spun mine yet).

Well anyway, this won't help you really if it's just for collecting purposes, I guess.

I just checked amazon.de, seems like hhv's amazon marketplace shop has three in stock. For 34,29€ though... yikes.

What is your setup?  Mine has a little bit of surface noise, but sounds excellent overall. The B side in particular.

  2. I received my first shipment from Music Matters a few days ago. While I haven't had a chance to give the records a spin yet, I can comment on the packaging, both product and shipping wise. The jackets are immaculate, and the photos used add a really cool touch. I was impressed they shipped the records in a basic sleeve outside of the gatefold jacket. There was a lot of detail attention paid to these reissues, and I have no doubt that carries over to the sound quality, too. For anyone considering their subscription, I strongly recommend it. For $80/4-6 weeks you receive two reissues. The records are priced at $34.95 + $5 medial mail shipping.

Yeah, they are fantastic.  Every single one has been one of the best pressings I have listened too.

I have Maiden Voyage, Midnight Blue and The Big Beat all on the way.

  3. You cant go wrong. I love original stereo Blue Note pressings, and have several original mono pressings (when my wallet can afford it), the Music Matters are the best I've ever heard. Some of the best jazz vinyl I've ever heard, period. I'm fascinated to see how much they are worth in 50 years.

Are there any pressing numbers on them?
