  1. http://www.marthastewart.com/1085315/party-themes-punk-rock Words fail me.
  2. $300+ because that's where the market is going with stuff like this. Mondo or some other company, doesn't matter. Add in the accessories, articulation/size and licensing, the Iron Giant figure is going to cost. As was previously mentioned, boutique toys like Hot Toys are selling upwards of $200 each, and those aren't 16 inches tall. Plus the fan base of Iron Giant is rabid for merchandise, so cha-ching $$ eyes. You also have head of Mondo interviewed saying that the old Iron Giant super-figure goes for $700 on eBay. Expect them to spin their own figure: "look, our figure is almost as tall as the old one, way more detailed and much more limited... and it's only half the cost of the old figure." Am I nervous? No, at $300 I might be in the market for one. If it breaches $400, I'm out. This is all my opinion of course, and I am nobody of note. Heck, I hope I am way off, they are under $200 and I can get two. One MIP and one to play with. But did anyone expect Mikey the ninja turtle to cost $105? I didn't see that one coming, but I avoid vinyl toy collecting.
  3. It was sold out for a couple of weeks on the You + Me site. Then yesterday I posted this thread and it came back into stock almost immediately. So I am pretty much responsible for that. You're welcome.
  4. Well, I am going through all my recent purchases tomorrow with a more strict eye then. Dimples are the most common defect I have seen, but I don't think I have kept many records I found to have them. Here are some pics of what I speak... Dimple - middle of the image on the far right side. Another dimple - they show up in multiples, sometimes clustered together three at time. Blister - dead center about 1/4" long x 1/4" wide raised bump, easily 1/8" tall. Coffee Straw Dents - covers one whole side of the record with visible, but not felt dents. All of the above defects are on the same album!!! I have an email in to the retailer for a refund.
  5. It was You + Me Rose Ave. from the Dine Alone records site. But I didn't do my homework and figured out shipping would be too much. Then I found them cheap on Amazon UK, so it all worked out.
  6. I just ordered two of these from Amazon UK. The total with shipping to the states was $24 and change each. So that's about as cheap as you can find one until they pull their head out and get these repressed. The comment thread on the You+Me webstore is full of people wanting to buy the sold out record. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Rose-Ave-VINYL-You-Me/dp/B00NG39OWI/ref=ntt_mus_dp_dpt_1 And where the heck is a pink and green variant? Somebody call Pink and get this straightened out.
  7. What about defects in the vinyl? I have received a few new records with tiny "dimples" in the vinyl. For lack of a better word I guess dimples is what I would call them, but when they appear there are usually several and on both sides of the album. I have also come across a new record with a lump on one side that stood about 1/8th of an inch off the surface. It looked like a blister but was solid. That same album had a weird pattern all over the other side that looked like someone dumped a bunch of coffee straws on the hot vinyl then pressed them in to make visible dents. They couldn't be felt but they were visible. At what point do defects like these in the vinyl affect playback? Should I be more strict about returning them?
  8. I want to order a record that is listed for Canada shipping only. I need someone familiar with shipping to the U.S. Who can help me?
  9. Just got my copy today. The packaging from Myplay is the best I have ever seen for just one album.
  10. If you look at the main site, they also list the Frozen deluxe edition vinyl. Hasn't that been long sold out or have I just not been looking in the right places? http://www.myplaydirect.com/disney-music-emporium
  11. The Fountain is one of my top three favorite films of all time, so I couldn't resist making a mockup. (The Empire Strikes Back and The Godfather - in case you were wondering) However, I am a complete design and photoshop hack, so I apologize for the following. Also, I stole part of scentofdeath's mockup. I imagined a slipcased, double album set with a gatefold inner sleeve. I hope my images make that clear.
  12. Amazon's new original series Transparent features a scene with a record player/collection in the first episode... You can read more about the use of music in the show here... http://flavorwire.com/480586/the-transparent-filter-music-supervisor-bruce-gilbert-breaks-down-his-near-perfect-soundtrack-for-amazons-new-hit
  13. I know you guys are more interested in her newer, pop albums but have there been any rumors about a vinyl pressing of Fearless?
  14. I am looking for a copy of the 2014 Wizard of Oz soundtrack record store day exclusive. Will pay $25 plus shipping.
  15. Picked up the whole Ha Ha Tonka discography. Not pictured is the 7" single from record store day, but I have it.
  16. I got mine yesterday as well, but I was too involved to post photos. I was really happy with the packaging she used. It was very sturdy and made the international trip without a single dent. The liner notes have some great art on them, and the whole package is very well done. Still hoping she presses her first album.
  17. That Grey Reverend album is a must have for me. Too bad he is taking a break from solo gigs for a while. http://beatdelete.com/releases/grey-reverend/a-heros-lie
  18. Glad I could point you all in the right direction. I will post some photos of the album once I have it in hand.
  19. Today was release day for Marketa Irglova's second solo album MUNA. No vinyl option appeared for sale on the few sites I usually buy records from, so I went to her website. She is selling a run of 500 copies on vinyl and is shipping them herself from her new home in Reykjavik, Iceland. Cost of one album was $20 plus $6 shipping to the U.S. She posted on Facebook that she can autograph anything purchased from her website. Here is a link to her site, the record can be purchased by clicking on her shop link. http://2014.marketairglova.com/ If you aren't familiar with her work, she co-starred in and co-wrote music for the movie Once with Glen Hansard. They won the Oscar for best original song from that film. She then joined Glen in a band called The Swell Season and released a couple of albums. Her first solo album ANAR can be streamed at the above website, but has not been offered on vinyl yet. Hopefully sales will be good for MUNA and she will produce a run of records for ANAR. Anyway, I didn't see a thread for this release. I am a long time lurker, just decided today was a good day to join. Hope someone finds the above info useful.
