  1. i figured someone would post about the inuit. i've been checking it daily and i'm glad i'm gonna be getting a copy! but gg wallet
  2. at least he smokes out of roor's instead of shitty ass pipes like most highschoolers
  3. i took the bus down from SF to LA. it cost like a little under 40 bucks... but its like 8 hours. I'm from orange county and i think LA can be lots of fun... you just hafta know the places and depends who you're with. SF is also lots of fun. i really like the culture up there. i'd visit around (like someone said) santa monica, venice. sd is lots of fun too... all about hte night life. if you're gonna be traveling by foot, i'd stick to SF
  4. nope. someone beat me to it with 6 seconds left. i'm so glad. because if i would've won, i'd be screwed for the rest of the week... a lot more impulse buys for me are records too. esp when you hang around the boards, people always tend to hype up releases/albums which you normally wouldn't buy. Most of the time it's totally worth it since you end up getting a collectible music item, sometimes rare which has good trading value, but other times just having an mp3 of the album is more than enough. (ie nofx records)
  5. Ever buy things on impulse whether it be on ebay or somewhere? Was it a GOOD idea or a BAD idea? Discuss. I just bid on a desktop. Put down the next minimum bid for the hell of it, but turns out i'm the next highest bidder. There's like 2 minutes left on this bad boy... and i'm hoping to get outbid, but at the same time i'd be excited for a new desktop.... er not new refurbished.
  6. funny how everyone here loves charlie. all my friends hate him and think he's annoying. i'm the only one who likes him out of our group. (makes me wonder if his musical background has anything to do with it) most emotional scene was definitely the season 3 finale with charlie dying.
  7. It seems like almost everybody has somewhat the same mindset.... It's easy to get rid of some, but never all. Some is always easy to get rid of because there is always going to be some record that you could care less about.... but when you have that emotional attachment to a handful of records, it's hard to let it go. Records are only worth what the supply and demand for them are. Just simple economics.
  8. shit that was long... didn't mean to keep rambling on.... i'm just depressed that i'm so fucking broke right now
  9. I was just curious about what everyone thought about this. I love collecting records. (especially when they're rare) It makes things more fun and being able to just sit at your room while listening to a record while it's spinning is way different than having it come out of your computer speakers while you read some music forum or something. The experience is so much different. And I feel like having a record collection is way different than your standard cd collection. But at the same time, when I think about how much money I've put into collecting these things.... it's hard for me to justify everything. There are a couple records I've spent 100+ on and i'm sure other's have as well.... I just think that I'm so broke all the time, if I sold all my records I'd make back so much money. And half the time when I do have money, that money will go into more records....until i'm broke. And when I'm broke, I sell the ones I don't want and use that money on buying more records. (a horrible cycle if u ask me) There's just a twisted pleasure I get when I come home from work to find a record sitting on my front door. I just feel like for a moment, all the troubles go away and I don't have to deal with all the stress from school/work when I'm at home, listening intently, spinning the record I just received. I always have this debate with myself because I think in like 10-20 years, none of these expensive records will be worth half that price. Some will, but most won't. I probably won't care about a stupid record collection and my music taste will probably change to the point where I won't even be listening to any of the shit I listened to in college... (not too long ago my favorite bands were brand new, get up kids, ataris and now it's radiohead, appleseed cast, animal collective) I always just had this ideal that when I die, the only thing that I'll have that's from my past is a nice record collection, but I'm starting to think that with all these money issues going on in my life right now..... it's probably not even worth it. I'd hate to sell my entire collection, but at somepoint.... I feel like I eventually will....
  10. I bought stuff from Ben when he was doing that sale. About a week ago I pm'd him to see if he was sent anything out. I was casual about it and told him to take his time if he was busy cuz' I was in no hurry. Ben seemed like a reputable guy around here so I wasn't too worried and one dude told me that he was a lawyer and just gets busy with work. I figured that's what happened since he didn't even log in since the days he made the sale. i would've liked my records, but thanks for the refund. I actually need cash so worked out for me. cheers
  11. pm offers. i'm gonna have this posted on other places so highest $$ wins in a couple days. may put up on LP if people just keep 'outbidding' each other. ebay's my last resort, but ebay blows so i hope i don't have to go there. i'd hate to sell this, but to be honest, i shouldn't have dropped a paycheck to buy this and i already have it in another color. no trades unless it's a jane doe print ps anyone know how much JD hoodie's go for? I saw some kid at the mall wearing one and he said he bought it for like 50 bucks.... I want one, but 50 is pushing it... cheers
  12. if you're going to buy lost season 5, I say get more cash together and buy THIS http://www.amazon.com/Lost-Complete-Seasons-1-5-Blu-ray/dp/B0021L8FR6/ref=br_lf_m_1000454281_1_2_ttl?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&pf_rd_p=500077291&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_t=1401&pf_rd_i=1000454281&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=09391BQYHBKWQPGKKS2W BEST DEAL EVER! (i believe regular deal dvd is $73) It ends TONIGHT
  13. haha this is an interesting thread. i work at best buy which basically sucks during the holidays. but when someone asks if we have _____ in the back and i know for certain we don't have it.... i'll take him to our little computer and physically show him we have 0 quantity in our counting system. if she STILL asks me to check the back (to which this point, i understand the OP's frustration), and refuses 'we don't have any' responses then depending on her attitude i'll go to the back and just sit there for 2 minutes. i get a nice little break, but sometimes it's annoying when you have so much shit to do and you know for a guaranteed fact you don't have that certain item..... if we have less than 3 in stock for the item (according to our counting system) and it's not where it's supposed to be, yeah i'll check the back and won't be mad about it or anything cus' that's what i'm supposed to do. sometimes i find it and if i don't, (esp if it's a cd/dvd) i just tell the customer it's not in the back and make up a valid excuse suchas someone could've picked it up and put it in a random spot... (which happens 7 out of 10 times) the worst is, however, that dickfuck retarded customer that is an asshole. when we had limited stock in wii's, it was a nightmare.... but when they demand you to do something, i usually try not to deal with them and do something else. if that customer finds me doing something, i'll just be like yeah i looked we don't have any. go somewhere else
  14. the red looks sick, but I ended up getting the blue. It said 1 per order so I didn''t know if I could get 1 of each color til I went back and saw that it said 1 of each variant per customer. Now I'm debating if I should get the red as well....
  15. Anyone interested in a broken xbox 360? When you turn it on, there's like a black screen that pops up with an error message. I know it's lame trying to sell a broken console, but if you go to craigslist, or go to a gaming store i think they fix it for liek 40 bucks. I just don't have the time or effort to go through that and since I have a ps3, and traded all my 360 games for ps3 games, I don't care for it anymore. It's the arcade verison, I have 1 controller, your fat av brick power source, composite cables (red, white, yellow), i'll even throw in an HDMI cable if you have an HD tv, and 2 games that it came with (arcade game with 6 mini games and madden 08) not exactly sure how much to ask for it, but will trade for items (records, ps3 stuff, whatever) or pm offers. cheers.
  16. I ordered 2 and got 4 vinyl. 50 foot wave, every time i die, in the red, and ghost buffalo. i was pretty excited to see ETID. don't know the rest of the guys, but i'm gonna start spinning them this week.
  17. damn that clear w/ shards looks beyond fucking sick. how sick? beyond mother fucking sick.
  18. i hate the icons, but too lazy to really do anything about it.
  19. featuring Dustin Kensrue, Chris Conley, Matt Pryor, and Anthony Raneri. JAN 7 - Troubadour West Hollywood, CA JAN 8 - House of Blues (San Diego) San Diego, CA JAN 9 - House of Blues (Anaheim) Anaheim, CA JAN 10 - Bottom of the Hill San Francisco, CA tickets are all on sale. It looks like a real solid line up. Something I def don't want to miss.... not even the opening acts.
  20. Really? People are hating the Ataris for signing to a major label in 2009? Get with it, junior, you're supposed to sever all ties with Against Me! now! Also, I don't know Kris Roe personally (I met him once at a Cursive show in Cleveland a few years back, though), but I think that dude and his band are probably the farthest things from rockstars. Dude self-sabotaged his career with Welcome The Night just to follow his muse, and he ended up having to sell gold records and personalized lyric sheets on eBay to pay his bills (not to mention how he's re-booted the band as a pop-punk act again just to appeal to Drive-Thru Records-worshiping mooks). truth. as much as i hated the ataris after they released SLA, i just feel bad for em now. Or I guess just Kris... since he's the only remaining member... Well he basically was the ataris. but anyways, he had to sell lyrics, prints, and gold records (how do you part w/ your personal gold record?!) just to pay bills. that's pretty bad...
  21. someone should start up like a $10 fantasy league so that way not everybody will stop caring halfway through and it makes things more competitive. (with that said, if anyone starts one im down....!)
  22. im pretty bummed i misssed out on this. i remember book marking the page and everything, but totally forgot. if anybody bought the 4 pack and is willing to give one up for near price hit me up. much appreciated...
  23. this movie was absolutely hilarious. although not something to hype up or else it'd be bland for other people. but there were some parts that scared the living shit outta me... gotta love all the rules. "thank god for red necks"
  24. ugh. i hate buying sigur ros records cus' i KNOW it'll be at least 30 bucks i'm whipping out. and i KNOW if i don't buy it, i'll regret it once it sells out...
  25. i liked about the first 2.5 episdoes. after that, it got kinda whack. but once i start something i like to finish it.
