Ditto on the re-quote. The self-titled (and even In Love And Death) are hardcore high-school nostalgia, for yours truly. The idea of spinning them on wax and recalling all the attached memories just tickles me. Everything released after that, though, I'd probably be ashamed to own on vinyl.

Would also jump all over a Used self-titled LP, were it on sale.

Thanks for the heads up. I don't own either of those records, so that'd be quite a grab. There are some other things I need / want to spend cash on, beforehand, but I'll definitely throw in a bid if the auction doesn't get too crazy.

Guilty as charged. Haven't been collecting for more than three years or so, but I've been able to track down all the rare or limited records / variants I'd care to own. Aside from that ATF variant, obviously. Even if it has only been out for a little less than two years, it has proven to be a bona fide bitch to track down.

Pretty much that. It has proven to be ridiculously elusive, even when I have the adequate funds in my bank account.

If you can get both versions, I would in fact argue that the pic-discs make better wall ornaments than records.

From what you could hear at the concert, how would you say Black Nurse and "Vanilla Poltergeist Snakes" stack up to the newer tracks?

The same could probably be said about the physical CD copies, too.

This is an instance where it's less about the vinyl / collector trend, and more about an album just being atrociously bad. I think.

If I recall, there was mere speculation of an EP - consisting of the five 7" releases - rumored to surface on 01/01. No idea whether or not it'll happen, but I have a feeling something will go down tomorrow.

Such a great record. I'm pretty big on Mogwai, and I can say with confidence that this trumps their last album or two. No competition.

So... is this being released in January, or is that when the pre-orders go up? Getting pretty anxious to hear this thing in full.
