Okay - just wrapped up my first listen all the way through. Swap confirmed. There is nothing any more interesting on the full album than what was heard from the singles that have been released. Also, I can buy this album for $18 right now on Bullmoose instead of the $27 I'm paying as a part of my subscription. A color variant and exclusive lyrics sheet don't really bridge that gap when I'm not excited about the music.

For anyone looking to swap, I recommend checking out Ben Webster Soulville if you have even a passing interest in Jazz. That was going to be a future swap for me but I ended up pulling the trigger on a cheap Discogs copy when it looked like stock was getting low on VMP website.

Am I the only one who thinks the video accompanying the announcement email kind of misses the mark?
It's cool that they got Morby to be a part of it but it's more an advertisement for the VMP service and doesn't really tell us anything about the music.
They could have at least highlighted a song that wasn't already released as a single.

Although it has since switched back to Fiona, the ROTM page confirmed Morby as this months pick for a quick moment. Must have been testing the page.
I'll give it a shot if I can track down a way to listen to the whole album but this will likely be a swap month for me.

Which records can you swap for? I've only done month to month subs in the past but decided to sign on for three now that there have been a slew of quality releases.
You can swap for any previous ROTM that is still in stock and select store exclusives. They include an updated list of SWAPS with each ROTM announcement so you will be able to see what you can swap for tomorrow. You can get an idea what will be available by looking at the ROTM archives in the store.

Loving this album but not thrilled with the way the silver sounds on my setup. Maybe I got a dud? I have some distortion on the first two tracks of side A. Rechecked my cart alignment and tracking force and made a few tweaks. Things did improved but I'm still experiencing less that optimum sound quality. How's the black pressing sound?
However, it was a good exercise to recheck my alignment and tracking force settings. Things were a bit off and the tweaks I've made have definitely improved the overall sounds of my setup. So if anything, there's that.

Absolutely, I'll let you know!
Awesome! In the mean time, I'll continue to keep my eyes peeled to see if anymore copies pop up.

My original order was through Diskunion, using this proxy: http://tensojapan.jshoppers.com/
I grabbed a copy off HMV (who ships overseason) this morning in case the other order falls through... just sucks knowing that none of these are guaranteed to secure a copy.
Care to work out a deal if both copies come through?

Well damn - just missed this. Gives me hope that more will pop up, though.

Mellow Dream shows in stock. It's fulfilled by Amazon so a forwarding service isn't required. Now here's to hoping that Scenery comes back in stock somewhere.

Port of Sound has the blue up for pre-order on their site. Worth a shot:

Thanks for this. It was $19 shipped but it's the best price I've been able to find. Should have just picked it up when I had a chance on RSD but felt like I had already spent to much.

Any leads on a Pearl Jam 7"? Suddenly realized that I need this after it seems to be sold out everywhere. If someone is able to find a local copy, I'd throw in a couple of extra bucks as a finders fee.

Just got word that I won a drawing to be first in line at my local record store. I get 15 minutes in the store all to myself . Not really much that I'm after that is in danger of selling out but should make for one of the smoothest RSD experiences yet.
Well - that was fun. Showed up to the store at 4:30 and they let me right in and started to hand me records as I read them off my list. I had everything I came for and was out of the store before 5am. Walked out with:
SDRE
Luna - Penthouse
Cinematic Orchestra - Ma Fleur
Neil Young - Decade
Cure Greatest Hits & Acoustic Hits (this was one of my biggest wants and they only got one copy in)
Toto Pic Disc
Prince Pic Disc
Superchunk - Cup of Sand
I also picked up a copy of Aja because, why not?
And this was me practicing self control. They have quite a big selection of titles still and they plan to put them online at 5am PST tomorrow morning.
Check them out at portofsoundrecords.com.

Incredibly tempting to pull the trigger on both Our Newest Album Ever! and Upbeats and Beatdowns. Played the hell out of these when they came out and saw FIF live multiple times. Banner Year is on my workout playlist. Alas, far too many other expenses to pull the trigger on something that will provide me with some nostalgia.

I'm confused about the 15 minutes alone thing. Do they have their RSD stuff in the general bins? My store has everthing behind the counter. No one looks at the bins unless they are bored standing in line in the store.
I have a few locals that I frequent and they all do it a bit different but they all have the RSD stuff out for everyone to browse through rather than having them behind the counter. They aren't integrated with the other stock but are consolidated to specific bins.

Just walk up to the singles bin, pull out a lone Kinks reissue and walk up to the counter, exclaiming "All done!"
I was just going to pick up a used copy of Fonzie's Favorites.

Yeah, there doesn't seem to be anything that is too in demand or will be too hard to get. But, at least I will get to do RSD in about 30 minutes.

If you are a Crate member and hoping Tidal makes it to the next month as an archive title you would be taking a big risk IMO.
If you are certain you want the album, you may simply want to jump on as a sub for a month, although they may catch on to your ability to go back to Crate and you will lose that option forever. Risk / reward depending on how bad you want Tidal.
Agreed. They are going to pay the $29 for the album either way. Might as well lock it in now than take a chance that they sell out if its an album that you really want.

Unfortunately no. A different error, but still down
Odd - I'm able to get to the sign up page. Here's a direct link the "Select Your Plan" page:
http://www.vinylmeplease.com/select-your-plan/
Maybe its the referral links that aren't working. You won't get the $10 credit via this link but maybe you can at least get signed up.

Anybody not feeling the Betty Davis pick should definitely consider either the Ben Webster or Merry Clayton albums as swaps. Both are fantastic.
