  1. Bazan should write an album about being a whore. It worked for Ke$ha... Also... ...and for $1000 dollars, you can get the Bazan for Life package!!! Includes: - an "I'm a sucker" tee shirt (comes with a complimentary tootsie-pop) - a broken guitar string played by Dave himself - a shred of Dave's dignity ***Super Rare!!! - a copy of everything he says he's going to release at some point - digital copies of home videos from family picnics - download codes for audio of Dave playing Yahtzee with his kids
  2. You clearly do not understand the concept of a handout. However you'd like to slice this it amounts to bullshit. "Help me sleep in every day and I'll write you a song." Bullshit. Next time I give a dollar to a panhandler, I'm going to demand a tee shirt that says I helped a hobo catch a buzz.
  3. Are you for real? I feel that most people interested in doing anything would like to do so without any sort of risk. Talk to any of the hundreds of thousands of failed business owners that went out on personal and financial limbs to follow their entrepreneurial spirit about this wanker who wants to play his guitar... see what they think about risk.
  4. Two dudes with >50 posts slugging it out; it's like watching the new kid at school pick on the retarded kid.
  5. Lol. Those insane zealots have a national media outlet on their side, not to mention a couple of best selling authors, the most listened to radio personality in the country (and probably at least 3 of the top 5), a highly organized network of international public speaking events, and a following akin to a herd of sheep... Quick, let's get our best two comedians to organize a free concert. That ought to show those guys. At least it was a cool event.
  6. An army of principles can penetrate where an army of soldiers cannot. - T. Paine
  7. ^^ This guy must have attended the Glen Beck rally judging from his lack of reasonableness.
  8. Fail to see how the voice of anyone who attended either function is any louder, individually or collectively, than it was before. Will there be a box on voting ballots that make your vote = 1.25 votes if you attended? Are corporate lobbyists suddenly going to have a change of heart because -- uh oh -- some smart folk formed a posse in DC once? Does the other side of the voting aisle feel intimidated now? A bunch of people flooding the streets of DC under the guise of unified sanity painted a pretty picture and made for some nice headlines, but ultimately accomplished nothing. Glen Beck and his ilk could care less; Ann Coulter is still sodomizing the masses with her oral strap-on; those with opposing beliefs are more resolute than ever; Obama is no better off than he was last week.
  9. Three hours of reasonable behavior? I felt pretty reasonable while watching it on TV. I don't know if I would have felt reasonable trying to get into the city that day though. I think half of my Office went to it and we're all federal attorneys. Bureaucrats like reasonableness. Group reasonableness? Again, what was this rally supposed to accomplish? I fail to see what ground was gained asides from publicity for the two hosts.
  10. I put out a sign advising kids to visit the produce section of their local grocery store. Then I went to a friends to watch the Saints game and drink wine. The sign was still intact when I returned. Hopefully I got through to at least one kid.
  11. What was this rally supposed to accomplish?
  12. Could you elaborate on social media tools? The difference between a social network and social media is purpose. A social network is simply for exchange of information and inter-connectivity. Social media is when actual artifacts are procuced from this network that are of benefit to the group itself; like a wikispace that cultivates new ideas and ways of thought from collaborative discussion; like a mesh network. Think "OURspace" instead of "MYspace".
  13. Why is a gimmick required to raise awareness for anything that is of importance? Oh... wait... we're all too absorbed in ourselves and our petty interests to care.
  14. Kirby, what are your feelings on using our social networks not as personal communication feeds, but more of social media tools?
  15. Funny how both groups are the most in need of muzzles (or ball gags?) when out in public...
  16. But back to first world problems... I can't find a hockey game on the television anywhere. Blasted football belt. And the banning of googlemyass... that's a first rate first world problem.
  17. Ahhh.... negative karma.... how I missed thee. Perhaps a few dozen more hits will teach me not to hate your children...
  18. Still. Kids are always getting free shit. Free entrance to things, free food on Tuesdays, free airfare, etc. I think they should be charged twice as much as normal adults.
  19. Hearing about starving children of the world. What a fucking buzz kill. I don't even like the standard issue obese domestic children, let alone starving foreign ones.
  20. I don't get Halloween. Seems kind of silly to me. But have fun, kids.
  21. One D. Sedaris is on my shit list as of late. Was supposed to see him again in Baton Rouge two weeks ago, but he changed the date to the middle of next week. Boooooo. But otherwise, he's awesome and so is your experience.
  22. Gonchar is sucking the big one so far. Had to drop him from my roster.
