Ideas - Travel to New York...what to do, where to
stevemcqueen replied to chlihead's topic in Everything Else Message Board
The Brooklyn Brewery is pretty neat too. And there are a bunch of vintage stores around and a bar called Whiskey Brooklyn where I like to play Ski-Ball and Big Buck Hunter. They also sell something called "Bowl O Bacon" which is...a bowl of bacon. For everyone talking about Soho, I work there. And yeah, it does suck. But there's an amazing Taco/Burrito truck outside my office called Calexico, corner of Wooster and Prince. Pretty fantastic. -
pop punk band - "no" from Baltimore
stevemcqueen replied to thebiglebowski's topic in Everything Else Message Board
I'd be interested in this too, if anyone knows anything. I'm originally from Baltimore and am always stoked on good music from my hometown. -
Zacaroo: Not to be nit-picky, but it's "fuck" that they say for 5 minutes straight. But agreed, that's an incredible scene. Totally worth it, great show. Only downside is that I'm originally from Baltimore, and whenever I introduce myself as being from there, that's the first thing that anyone brings up. Not a huge problem though, as it's such a good show.

Exactly, Watchmen is such a self-contained novel, we don't need to delve into the backstories of the characters anymore, especially when the writing is inferior. Moore said something like, "I don't remember there being many prequels to Moby Dick." That's a bold statement, but the intention is right on.

Few things make me happier than early Metallica. But they are a bunch of doucheclowns, so there's that. I cannot get into NoFX save for a few songs, and I really feel like I should like them. But when I want to listen to late 80's/early 90's California punk bands, I will choose Bad Religion over them 10 out of 10 times.

Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)
stevemcqueen replied to lungfutang's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I have one, it definitely doesn't sound great. As someone said above, I have to mess with the bass and treble to get it sounding anywhere near okay. Luckily I got it for free, as a former roommate bought it to play on my turntable and said I could have it when he moved out. -
Thanks, I grabbed Ben Nichols and Social Distortion. So I'll post these: The Sainte Catherines - Fire Works http://downloads.ilcdistro.com TSC1R9W8ON0T Titus Andronicus - The Monitor www.beggarsgroupusa.com/promo UPC: 634904047719 666F26ZE

Green Day Screws Over NY/NJ Punk Bands
stevemcqueen replied to jailhouse's topic in Everything Else Message Board
My band was supposed to play at Don Hills a few years ago, and the guy canceled it on the day of the show. Five bands had showed up with all their shit, and the guy said there weren't enough people there. So we had to send all our friends home and truck all our shit back to Yonkers. He was a dick. -
Good to know. I have some 33 7 inches, so I knew they existed, this is just the first 45 12'' I've come across. Thanks for the explanation!
