I have been on a huge kick lately for 2 band, 2 song splits of the death metal variety. Some of my current favorites: - Disma / Convulse - Funebrarum / Undergang - All of the splits by Spectral Voice - Blood Incantation, Phrenelith, Vastum - Hatespawn / Dead Congregation - Worship / Stabat Mater (more death-doom/funeral but same concept) - Teitanblood / Necros Christos What are some of your favorite splits like these?

Just dropping by to say that in the vast sea of amazing death metal releases of the past 2-3 years, Phrenelith's 'Desolate Endscape' might be the best of the best.

Has anyone picked up the recent Listenable Records colored reissues of the first three Suffocation LP's? Curious as to the quality on those.

An album that will be pressed into the tens of thousands with an MSRP of $29.99. Can we stop the standardizing of thirty bucks being a normal price for a 2xLP, let alone $35 for an 'Urban Outfitters Exclusive?'

Waiting on dinner to arrive and have some down time - here are some of my favorite 2018 releases - some new music, some represses, etc. In no particular order.. Sleep - The Sciences, 4/20 edition and green edition, Leagues Beneath EP. The Leagues Beneath EP is seriously some of the coolest vinyl I've ever held. Bongripper - Terminal, tour exclusive pressing SUMAC - Love In Shadow Our Place Of Worship Is Silence - With Inexorable Suffering Bell Witch - 2011 Demo repress Tomb Mold - Manor of Infinite Forms Vastum / Spectral Voice split 7" Mouth of the Architect - The Ties That Bind repress

I think that's pretty accurate. I really like the splatter versions of the "Towards the Megalith" and "Vexovoid" represses. But I was not impressed with the splatters for Of Feather And Bone "Bestial Hymns..." or Infernal Coil "Within A World Forgotten." Hit or miss just like anything else

A friend pointed out to me today how underwhelming the recent splatter variants of Profound Lore releases have been - i.e. very different from the sample mock-ups, and I think that is pretty accurate.

To me this album includes several moments that remind me of ISIS, or just have that ISIS sound to them, and I have no complaints about that!
