pink marble vinyl is definitely awesome in hand. My jacket got a NASTY seam split on the side the records slide out of, gonna email Thrill Jockey and see if I can pay for a replacement sleeve. I've loved the styling of the SUMAC sleeves for all the LPs

I can't imagine that happened. Moribund owns the music, that is not up for debate. Wrest was mad about the vinyl being outsourced to BoB and thought he was being cut out of royalties that way and raised a big stink, so Moribund decided they would do the vinyl themselves. As much as I love some artists like Wrest, I really only feel minimum sympathy for them signing the rights to their creations over.

No preorders up yet, but impending Profound Lore releases by Hissing and Evoken have me EXTREMELY hyped. AASS has stock imagery for the artwork and a flat-out embarrassing 'essay' in the gatefold littered with spelling errors about how the releases are legit despite what the internet may what you to believe. I would never want one of these monstrosities sitting on my shelf even if that means I only own JI material in CD or digital format. I sold my Leviathan 'First Sublevel' for the same reason, as it was the only thing I've purchased from them. Hopefully Metal Archives puts this all to rest with Akhenaten's statement, the only people who actually seem to have had any contact with the artist in 2018. Stop giving money to thieves

Releases like these by TMR just beg clueless flippers to snatch them up to flip, like the first copy for sale on Discogs for 100 GBP

I almost wish they did this as opposed to sending 2-3 copies to each store and/or making stores buy the 10 black for 1 colored gimmick route.

Doesn't get much deeper and gargle-y than Craig Pillard - Incantation, Disma, though these may be too doom-y for you if that's not what you are looking for. If this is truly a totally new genre for you, get Neurosis' entire discography and thank me later

Definitely feeling for you all that haven't received your orders. I got my order but still regularly check this thread hoping more orders have gone out or been resolved.

When I think about my favorite record labels (metal-specific as metal is all I collect,) Relapse is never one that comes to mind, as many classic releases/cool variants/etc. that they have, the pricing REALLY turns me away. I also think their releases are a perfect example of a label some of the vinyl stamp collector types flock to for limited, 'pretty' variants without being that interested in the artist/music.

So the 10" EP is just the three singles, but the CD preorder up is the full album? Weird.

I praise Evoken's entire discography - get to listening so you're ready for the new LP in November!

I'm starting to prefer the labels that don't give pressing numbers for variants of a certain run. It seems that providing pressing numbers just allows clueless flippers to watch for new releases from labels like HHR/Profound Lore/etc. and just snatch up the most limited variants to resell.

I am convinced that AMM lied to and tricked all involved parties (RS, Elegy, NWN) into believing they had contact with Akhenaten that they didn't have. It was admitted on the NWN forums that this whole thing came about based on a conversation Blake and Andy had over a decade ago. I believe it is much more likely Red Stream informed Andy of this whole shit show recently and it is not something he wants (as Red Stream says in the Discogs thread.)
