Things are probably completely different in Europe but; I always think if I pay someone to do my taxes it should save me at least the amount I spend on paying that person. Luckily the last couple of years I've made so little money that it was just as easy to do it myself.

I used to teach English full time in Germany, loved it, best thing I ever did, I would certainly recommend teaching in a different country. The only advice I would give is that any experience you have or get of teaching will be a huge benefit to you, it's probably better to learn a little bit of the language of the country you end up going to but by no means necessary, you can ususally pick a language up much easier in the country itself anyway.

If I really get into the Christmas spirit I listen to Seventh Son of a Seventh Son by Iron Maiden, it reminds me of Christmas time for some reason more than any actual Christmas song. Actual Christmas music : that Duvall Christmas record is pretty good.

The Black Album's not that bad , no AJFA but it's no St Anger. I was speaking to someone recently about Metallica vinyl, about how on an older record player the first few records are just a touch faster, and therefore a touch more awesome.

Seriously, all those Merge reissues are like a kick in the face. They "reissued" those Spoon, Arcade Fire and Neutral Milk Hotel records when they've been in print all along. They went from $12 to $18, and you know they're using the same stampers - $6 pure profit. It's taking advantage of a loyal fanbase and it makes me sick. To be fair to Merge I believe the $18 or whatever it is, is postpaid within the U.S. Fuck all good to me living in Europe though.

Has anyone mentioned the first 2 Tortoise albums as they're both really great.

I read that a few years ago, I enjoyed it although I heard the band claimed most of it was complete rubbish, but bands always claim that.

Sonic Youth released a series of e.p.'s and the first one of them is really good, I think it's called SYR 1 or something, I don't think it had a title. Beware however as there is a lot of complete dogshit lurking in the rest of the series.

Thanks I couldn't quite remember what it was he was jailed for, I knew he didn't personally take part in the Tate/Labianca killings but I thought he might have actually been part of the group that killed the drug dealer guy that kicked off the whole thing.

Was Manson actually convicted of murder? He always claims he never killed anyone but I can't remember if he took part in any of the killings themselves or not.

Tapes rule, I probably own a few hundred and I listen them pretty much every week. My walkman gets far more use than my mp3 player, I like the sound a lot better but that's probably because I grew up with tapes

I've helped run a second hand bookshop for about 15 years and the site I use most for selling is biblio.co.uk, I think there is a biblio.com as well based in the states. It works works well for selling so I assume it works well for buying. A lot of people I know use abe books for buying and selling although I hear prices can all over the place. Also bookfinder.com is great because it looks at all the selling sites and shows which book is the cheapest including shipping to your country, I use it a lot for looking up prices as well.

In hindsight it's a bit inappropriate, it kind of gives the image of Victorian gents or something, all the schoolboy fights I saw involved a lot of headlocks and people standing a round in a circle shouting, I don't remember there being that many punches thrown.

From what I've seen girls bully each other in a much more horrible way and they never forget. More often than not with boys anything verbal usually at some point results in some sort of fisticuffs or at least a threat of physical violence which tends to settle the situation one way or the other, at least this was the way when I was at school.

I`ve got gallstones so far they haven't given me a lot of problems and I hope that continues , they just fuck with my liver function a little. The Doctor told me to cut down on fat in my diet, like saturated fat and things like that, I've heard of people curing them or at least making them totally silent by doing that.

A little off topic but has anyone ever read the Charles Manson autobiography "Without Conscience", it's pretty fucked up but worth a read if you can find it.

Only advice I would give anyone is try things in moderation but be very vary of absinthe and any kind of hallucinogens(that includes eating big bits of weed). Absinthe nearly destroyed my body, I was in total pain, vomiting and shitting blood for days afterwards, not a good time. Hallucinogens are a huge gamble, when something goes wrong and it will eventually it is very diffucult, sometimes impossible to get back to the same place you were before, not worth it in my opinion.
