  1. hmm, i need to ship a 7" to Russia, might need to check DHL's pricing then, USPS blows. and forgive me if this was already posted (i'm not going thru 9 pages to check) but Epitaph has their exclusive color up now too:
  2. and holy shit City just got themselves in real trouble against Barca...
  3. sadly (not for you obviously) Liverpool has been sooo inconsistent with winning games like that. I can usually tell within 10 minutes that they'll win or lose, and during that game, it was only 5 minutes in before i realized it was going to be one of those games. You can tell by the looks on their faces, the direction on the field, it was just a 95% performance when they needed all 100 to get that back-to-back against a team like Arsenal.
  4. hope you didn't waste your time watching it, it was a snoozer. had it on in the background while Liverpool was playing and every time i glanced at it it was just painful. sad that the best Arsenal team in years couldn't beat the worst Man United team in years AND neither of them could look any less interested in playing at their potential. hope that it was just an off day for them or the pressure was too intense or something. Arsenal need Ramsey and Theo back, and United, well, yeah.
  5. i haven't read the books (i'm not a particularly fast reader, it'd probably take me years) so i have no idea what to expect from the show. the second-to-last episode of the last season, the wedding, holy shitballs. ho. lee. shitballs.
  6. ahh! stoked as hell for this. finally got caught up in this series a month or so ago, love it.
  7. captain of my fantasy team this week, he got more points than the rest of my squad combined!
  8. as a mild United fan, it's been as equally entertaining as it is frustrating. it's like watching an exotic car explode into flames, it's tragic, but also fascinating and beautiful to watch.
  9. i still think it's City's title to lose, but Arsenal still have a chance, no question. City have the skill ($$$) but no discipline. and i wouldn't count Chelsea out of it. they're still not playing their best football but they're not dropping as many points as Arsenal and City at the moment. and United, holy shit. this game against Fulham is UGLY. not only are United getting bad results, they're playing dull, uninspiring, and frankly, just boring soccer. i was thinking United would give Moyes time, but i may be changing my mind. not only are they going to miss Champions League for the first time in PL history, they're not even going to make Europe League at this point. they've been talking about a player-exodus, but coaching staff might be out before them?
  10. yeah a lot of people are writing them off already, and not only is that silly but it's unfair. they've been on top of the league for 128 days and all the sudden they can't win it all? nonsense. i still think Liverpool will finish 4th as well, and frankly, just that Champions League spot is all they're reasonably shooting for.
  11. wooot! How bout that Liverpool match eh? man i hope that cements a 3rd or 4th place finish. I've gotten over my senseless hate of Arsenal, but that was still awesome. only real bummer for me about the Gunners losing is that gives City another chance to get in front. and Arsenal have a TOUGH month.
  12. MLS is in a very different place than it was then, though. and frankly, so is soccer in the US. his name may not be enough to carry a whole soccer team in a place that hasn't worked before, but it might be just enough to be the extra piece to fix what didn't work before. plus it's not for another few years. this "news" (worse-kept secret in US soccer) has been all over general news sites, radio, etc, spreading the MLS brand. his time at Galaxy did wonders for the league, this could be the same deal, if not bigger. big players would want to play for him/his team, and Miami would be a premo destination for big players with an easier flight back to Europe for family/competitions than a place like LA. i just cant imagine my Seattle Sounders having to fly out there and back on a weeknight and having to play at home on the weekend or something. brutal.
  13. hoping Fulham goes down? that hurts. sure, they fucking blow hard this year, but over a team like Sunderland or Stoke? Hell, i'd be fine with any other team in the bottom half going down besides them. granted i've got a soft spot for them since Dempsey played for them (although he's not doing jack shit for them on loan at the moment) and they're the only PL club i've got to watch in person when me and my wife wen to London. but thinking harder on this, they really do suck this year.
  14. i'm actually getting really sick of hearing about Seahawks 24/7, it's all the news and the radio and people are talking about out here. i'm still rooting for them, but the excitement is waning as it's just fucking overkill and then some.
  15. i was pretty excited about this until i realized that's over 80 USD, which i cant really blow right now :/
  16. excited about this. was way late on this band. actually discovered them from getting into SEVERE (check them out, they're rad) who have the same singer.
  17. i've made it a new life goal to acquire the RD-D2 set.
  18. a little obscure, but hands down: clear highlighter (neon) yellow also really like clear red, straight clear, and coke bottle blue.
  19. no doubt. West Ham is shit but Sunderland aren't much better, and WH went out 0-9 vs City. i cant imagine a single Hammer fan going to the final, a Wigan part 2 is not gonna happen this year. my buddy came out over right at the start of the second extra half so i missed the whole end of the game. glad i missed the shootout. sounds like a joke.
  20. aaand they fall to Sunderland in the league cup fuck, this season is all kinds of bonkers.
  21. that Hierophant record is awesome. win.
  22. Sorry Alex S (and other Arsenal fans): Walcott is out for 6 months, will miss the rest of the season and the World Cup. i was just thinking over the weekend, "man, if this guy could could just stay healthy for a whole season he'd be in conversations of current best players in the world but he cant see to stay healthy for more than a few weeks at a time". huge blow for the gunners considering their current string of injuries. and he was playing great football, sad e wont get to see him for the world cup.
  23. there's still a bunch of records i didn't give enough attention to, but here's my last swing at this thing: Best of 2013 Full Lengths: 1. I Not Dance - Thought Leader - holyfuckingshit the riffs, the creativity. fuuuuck. This one was by far and away my favorite release of the year. And i think more people would have jumped on this if they didn't have such a stupid band name... 2. Centuries - Taedium Vitae - everything i want in a hardcore record. one more song to make it a smidge longer and it would’ve been godamn perfect. 3. Deathrite - Into Extinction - no idea why anyone would listen to Black Breath when they could be listening to this. Ultra heavy, super catchy. 4. Hierophant - Great Mother : Holy Monster - one of the heaviest records of the year. this record could make me forget about HHIG (ok not really but still). one of my most played HC records of the year. 5. Mammoth Grinder - Underworlds - much more catchy than Extinction, and much, MUCH better than the Hatred Surge and Impalers records. 6. Rosetta - The Anaesthete - nothing new for them, but it’s still what i always want from them. they can do no wrong. 7. Deafheaven - Sunbather - can’t believe the topped RtJ, but they did. Take out the interludes and I’d like it a whooole lot more. although this record is not as good as it’s hyped up to be. 8. Children of God - We Set Fire To The Sky - one of the most creative bands in HC right now. very honest and unique sound 9. Jungbluth - Part Ache - leaps and bounds better than their demo EP. love the riffs and the ferocity of the vocals. makes the demise of Alpinist much easier to bear. 10. Castevet - Obsian - this one was a grower just like their last one, and rewards with every listen. not quite what i wanted it to be, it’s not quite as dark as Mounds of Ash, but still a goddamn fantastic record. 11. Ruined Families - Blank Language 12. Year of No Light - Tocsin 13. Holy - The Age of Collapse 14. Jackals - No Solution 15. Vaura - The Missing 16. Dead in the Dirt - The Blind Hole 17. Coke Bust - Confined 18. Hoax LP 19. Cloud Rat - Moshka 20. Power Trip - Manifest Decimation Seven Sisters of Sleep - Opium Morals & Cult of Luna - Vertikal started strong in the year but had no staying power for me. EP’s & Splits: 1. (tie) Hollowed Tongue - Godsnakes 1. (tie) Of Feather and Bone - False Healer 1. (tie) Severe - The Gutter Sessions all three of these are dirty, heavy, mean, and catchy as hell. not just some of my favs of the year, but of the last few years. 4. Heartless - Certain Death - sadly, their final release, but they went out with a huge bang. 5. Moral Void - Vol I 6. Young and in the Way / Moral Void Split 7. False Light - s/t (since the physical version of this was finally released this year, i’m throwing it on here) 8. Skinfather - Succession / Possession 9. Young and in the Way / Withdrawal - split 10. Vaccine / No Faith split - great way for Vaccine to go out. great, insanely pissed off split 11. LIES - 3 song Cassette 12. Hoax - Caged / Sick Punk 13. Rotten Sound - Species at War 14. Vaccine - Dead Inside 15. ARRM - Sand / Blackwater Biggest Disappointments: (Not necessarily bad - just disappointing) Society Nurse LP - EP was awesome, and this just felt like a Walls B-side LP. Iron Lung - White Glove Test - for some reason this record just feels flat to me. The best songs on it are the Brutal Supremacy tracks that aren’t new. Hatred Surge - Human Overdose - not a bad record, but probably the most boring HS material ever. especially when the Mammoth Grinder record came out two months later and DESTROYED it. Terra Tenebrosa - The Purging - a couple tracks have the quality to be on the last record, because, well, they sound exactly the same. the rest is either boring or just meandering noise. I’d dare to say the whole record sounds pretentious, which is especially weird for a record with a faux Slipknot cover. Favorite Soundtracks M83 - Oblivion Year of No Light - Vampyr Best Records From 2012 That I Didn’t Discover Until 2013: Black Mask - s/t EP Ayr - Nothing Left to Give BLCKWVS - 0150
