  1. Super excited for this! For those on the fence, the pre-order price that I've seen for the book alone is $35, after shipping this bundle comes out to just over $50 after tax/shipping to the US so I think it's pretty good deal for both. I wonder if there are other archival releases like this in the works...let's hope so!
  2. Can anyone comment on the new mastering/pressings compared to the originals? As I understand The People's Key is more or less the same but how about the others?
  3. Out of curiosity, how do the various color pressings of MK/SKM albums stack up in terms of pressing/sound quality? Any pressings to avoid? I know sometimes colored vinyl can be hit or miss but since most of these are pressed at RTI maybe the quality is better across the board? Almost all of my collection are black pressings (besides clear variants of Benji and Union Hall) and I've been uniformly impressed with the quality of the vinyl, except for Live at Biko which I thought was kind of noisy but tolerable. Benji and Union Hall are both excellent, would love to know where the others stand in case the opportunity arises to pick any other up in the future
  4. Got my clear Union Chapel record in the mail yesterday, it is a beautiful live record as far as sound and performance, really nice pressing too, dead quiet and the silk screened/letter pressed jacket is gorgeous. It's my favorite of his live records that I've heard so far, for being so heavy on AFP songs and also being solo acoustic the performances are surprisingly (or maybe not surprisingly) vibrant and can stand alone from that record as a pretty unique listening experience. Just thought I'd add my two cents since I had a hard time finding any reviews of this record online and I had been hesitant. Maybe I'm also biased because AFP is my favorite of his records. Anyway, it's a great record and will be on heavy rotation in the coming weeks.
  5. Just picked this up, really nice pressing and packaging. I had read elsewhere there were concerns about where they sourced the masters from (including certain pressings sourced from vinyl with an off center hole causing a warbling effect) but I think it's great sounding record, especially given they didn't have the original tape to master from, great record through and through. Recommend also Captured Tracks Stockholm Monsters Reissue
  6. Glad I checked this! Ordered a clear copy of Union Chapel. I've been keeping an eye out for restocks since I stumbled upon copies of Admiral Fell Promises and Among The Leaves at the SKM/JESU show in Brooklyn last winter, figured there must be handfuls of these out there, still waiting for April to make a reappearance. I'm wondering if there are boxes of that and Ghosts just waiting to be uncovered since the pressing numbers were pretty similar (at least to AFP). Here's to hoping!
