  1. A Serious Man was probably my favorite film of 2009. The Coen brothers can do no wrong (well, sometimes i.e. The Lady Killers). I really want to see The Road but I hear it's terribly depressing. I suppose that's never stopped me from watching plenty of other films so hopefully I can catch this before it leaves the theaters.
  2. Small Brown Bike / Cursive split 7". Has my favorite SBB song on it and I love me some cursive so this is a no brainer.
  3. Finally got around to picking up Team Fortress 2 on the PC (had been playing the xbox 360 version) and I'm getting addicted all over again.
  4. I was always a big fan of Razor Ramon and his trademark move; "The Razor's Edge". He totally lifted his character from scarface and the idiots at the WWF didn't even realize it. Reading the wiki entry made me seriously LOL... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Hall#Razor_Ramon
  5. http://cirecords.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=2&products_id=37 No wonder they have some left if they pressed 1500 of it. I still have one that I bought from choke distro when I used to work at a record store "back in the day". Probably paid like $7 or $8 for it... it's a nice guilty pleasure listen every so often.
  6. Dang... just bought one like 2 hours ago. enjoy my $3 all of you lucky winners!!!
  7. I don't recall the exact moment I found VC... but I'm thinking it had to have been when I was checking into the band Kane Hodder after hearing about their album The Pleasure to Remain So Heartless which was affiliated with Suburban Home Records. I've been spending money I don't have here @ VC ever since.
  8. Really? The only thing Rita had going for her was that she was gorgeous. Ever since the second season she has been nothing but incredibly annoying. However, I do not feel that she deserved to die. I thought they'd come up with some other less depressing way to write her off of the show. I do find it rather sinister the way the writers killed her off. It's almost like they were aware that a lot of people were not fond of her character so they had her die in an incredibly horrific fashion as if they were trying to make us feel bad for not liking her. As for S5? I don't really see any way for him to cover up her death but how he'll explain why the Trinity killer targeted his wife... I have no idea. That's going to look awfully suspicious. It really seemed like he was about to change his ways in this final episode... Rita's death would only further solidify his reasons for changing the way he lives his life. Had he changed earlier on, she would still be alive. The amount of guilt he will no doubt be feeling is going to be enormous. Especially once the kids get home. It's almost too depressing to think about!
  9. I had a pretty good laugh at the price on this one... http://cgi.ebay.com/Botch-We-Are-the-Romans-2xLP-ORANGE-BLUE-of-300-isis_W0QQitemZ190357277693QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMusic_on_Vinyl?hash=item2c522d8bfd
  10. I've always had great service from VC, deathwish, Mylene Sheath, revHQ, temporary residence, blue collar/hydra head and interpunk. As for bad experiences... Merch Now has screwed up numerous orders. Sending the totally wrong item (same band but the wrong item) or listing something in their store that they don't actually have in stock (and then not telling me until the order arrives at my door and I finally see the packing list). Amazon... yeah, I'm an idiot for ordering vinyl from them in the first place but it's as if they're unaware that they actually make mailers designed specifically for LPs. They always end up putting my records in a gigantic box with a ton of bubble protectors. Seems like a gigantic waste of money/supplies when they could just use a simple LP mailer. I'm sure they do enough business to warrant their use.
  11. man did we all think the same thing ? Apparently not, because I bought it. The last one of these I was able to get was a mars volta one exactly a year ago and I've never been lucky enough to snag another one until today. Don't get me wrong... I do have a tad bit of buyer's remorse paying $25 for this darn thing.
  12. I've got the spaceballs soundtrack and a 12" single of cypress hill's insane in the membrane.
  13. back around 2000 my band had a couple shows with useless I.D. one of which was a house show on indianola ave if you've ever been to Columbus, oh. anyways, the day afterwards they decide to eat at the pita pit on high street and they were pretty much horrified at what they were served. after verbally criticizing the restaurant extensively it ends up burning down (as well as a used cd shop beneath it) a few months later. moral of the story: useless i.d. is an unstoppable force not to be reckoned with.
  14. I have this on black. Got it from lumberjack back when they used to do distro for indie shops. Wish I had some of the other colors however... http://www.deadformat.net/press/183
  15. Hum - You'd Prefer an Astronaut on clear green. I used to see these a lot on eBay but not so much anymore and when they do it's easily $100+. Also, Botch's We Are the Romans. Again, too pricey for me to snag a copy when they do pop up on eBay... I guess I just need to suck it up and pay the going price!
  16. Fuck, how long ago was this? This would have been 6 or 7 years ago. Ancient history!!!
  17. Back when I once worked at an indie record shop (went out of business, what a shocker) I was able to score probably 10+ copies of Clarity on 2xLP on all sorts of different colors from revHQ. For some reason no one was aware that you could still buy them for less than $15 so just about every copy that I put up on eBay went for $50+. I only have one copy left now and I kind of regret selling all but one but hey... I was laughing all the way to the bank.
  18. I think the only vinyl I ever picked up from a hot topic was when they had the thursday/thrice 7" on clearance for $.99 and I bought the 3 they had left. Kind of pointless but they were cheap... Also a Bill Lumberg postcard for my cubicle. That was a must have.
  19. Funny (I wish) story... Back when I worked at a small mom and pop record store we would order direct from Victory. I shit you not, they put a stack of records IN THE BOTTOM OF A BOX and then threw maybe 10 shirts and some other cds and shit on top if the records and mailed it out. Luckily, the only item that ended up being damaged was a clear pink copy of Thursday's Full Collapse that was at the far bottom. It had a huge spider shaped crack on one half and was luckily still in one piece.
  20. i've got #1958 on clear and #1927 on clear red. i had a whole bunch more of these when it first came out but sold them on ebay over time as my interest in the band slowly diminished...
  21. I don't have pictures but my most prized record is a copy of Thursday's Full Collapse. I have two copies of the original pressing w/ silk-screened covers. One is clear but it has a black streak in it from the machine being dirty /200 and the other is Bluish Splatter /300. I bought them both directly from Victory's distro when they were first released for something ridiculous like $8 each. I was able to get the band to sign the clear copy at a show in Toledo (before their tour with saves the day when they blew up). I had everyone's signature except for Geoff's because he was in the bathroom at the time. I felt kind of stupid for asking... but immediately after he left the bathroom I'm all in his face... HEY SIGN THIS RECORD. Anyways, I caught him so off guard that he wrote this on the cover of the album: "Thanks for witnessed my special moment. Geoff Rickly" Kind of silly considering he was an English major in college. 2nd place would go to my copy of Hum's Downward is Heavenward on clear blue released on the band's label, Martians Go Home. Not sure how many were pressed. Got it for $50 on eBay when someone who worked for Parasol mail-order (from the band's hometown) was liquidating all the copies he had left.
  22. I hope some people on here are familiar with the show, Arrested Development... Last week, an auction ended for an original deck of cards that Gob used as a prop on the show. However, I didn't feel like paying $120+ FOR A DECK OF CARDS even though I love the show and his character. I shudder to think how much his magic bouqet of flowers will go for this week...
  23. i'll probably pick this up on a red shirt. i ended up with entirely too many brown shirts and i'm pretty much done wearing black these days. the insanity must end somewhere!
  24. I had a copy that was pressed by Grand Royal but it was not signed. I remember it being ridiculously thick (180 GRAM) when I opened it up. Perhaps the thickest record I had purchased up to that point in my life... Anyways, I ended up putting on eBay starting bid $5 and it sold for $5. I was disappointed to say the least...
