An update regarding the I Saved Latin tribute... I'd imagine some folks would be interested.
Was in touch with Joe (founder of American Laundromat) not too long ago and inquired as to an LP format of the release, and (he) mentioned of a possible fall release (this year, of course), in which it would be an abridged version so it fits on one LP, and, hoping to coerce a couple of new artists to contribute so that the LP is special.
Straight from the horse's mouth.

Pre-Order now available via the Cult Records shop...

Somewhat wavering on this one... on sale till the 31st. Will probably end up getting that hot pocket (groovy pouch, as it's called), since I don't want to mess with the oven. An abundance of warped records and just want something that works.
Anybody have one, and can testify to the validity of it?

The LP is now available for purchase, $15, for those who prefer going solo.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killed_by_Death_(albums) 1 through 4 are essential listening, after that there's as much crap as there is gold
essential, indeed. however, 5-10 are ace... the KBD France and Killed by Epitaph (Dutch) comps are swell too...
anybody wanting to expand their knowledge should check out the following: http://www.kbdrecords.com/

okay, what was the first release that was able to capitalize on the idea that people would buy more than one copy of the same record.
well... the first album to sell over a million is from mr. belafonte.

Someone needs to do a repress of Lost In Translation. Mondo would probably do a great job with it and it would sell sell sell.
Lost In Translation = yes.
Lost Highway = hell yes.
-
Do you have the black or blue/white swirl DGC pressing? Blackball repressed Dear You on blue vinyl initially.. then on black. While I have all these pressings, my fave is the DGC on black vinyl... 'cause it's a dark album.

go Rad, go!
how about the return of VC member of the month (or was it week?). once upon a time, it was somewhat "fun & friendly"....
being on board for a few years now, i find more postings these days regarding monetary value/capital gain of records and an abundance of dehumanizing, discriminating, and censuring comments, which i absolutely detest. one voices their thoughts, which is then placed under lock and key? a police state, a gated community, craving some law and enforcement? you can keep your social regulations and shove them out the door. so what if someone made a malicious remark? ...it's nothing. move on, fuck the comments.
Cringing at this "eye for an eye" etiquette, however, this is the Vinyl Collective Message Board. you're entitled to your own opinion.

A few years back when I had a disposable vinyl collection and such, I used to partake in "vinyl throwing".
Ross Angeles made this fine short not too long ago regarding this... Enjoy.
-
essential, indeed... thanks for posting this! it's boogie time.
hardcore red for the devotee in me... wonder how "limited" this one is?
superior viaduct definitely puts out; urinals, avengers, and martin rev to name a few.

Being the Jim Jarmusch and Criterion fan I am, thought I'd share this with the rest of VC...
Criterion has over seven hundred titles via Hulu and each week or so, various directors and such are placed on the Hulu pedestal.
This week is Jim Jarmusch's Criterion films:
Something to keep in mind - this is only for the next few days. Enjoy!
