  2. I'd buy that... ...for a dollar. +1 sir. +1 indeed....

  4. well what i meant with the voting was that the list of bands we chose from were bands that were interested. Of course you wouldnt just put bands up there with hope that they agree to it. But, regarding your first statement, the final say IS up to Virgil and it should be interesting to see where he takes this
  5. well, then we can put up two different types of lists. one with punk bands, another one with metal/hardcore bands, then take the winners of each list then put them on a split. Then the next month, put the same bands up, except the winners of last months. So it would start with 12 bands, then eventually get voted down to one.
  6. monthly poll. the same way the avatars are picked. Virgil (or someone else) will put up a list of bands, the top two will get pressed, the top on the a-side, 2nd place on the b-side either way, these ideas are great. loving the idea of the side label
  7. nicely done. I helped a guy move who said Vonnegut his college professor way back when. I didnt believe him until he showed me a pic.
  8. I've enjoyed reading everyones stories so much, that i thought i would throw in my two-cents. I used to live in a remotely dead town. The only bands we got to play were locals. Don't get me wrong, i think we should support local music as much as possible, but i wanted more. I would read about bands i loved doing these huge tours and coming nowhere near me. Every now and then, we would get some great ones (Converge, TBS before John quit) but it wasnt enough. I put up with it until I came to AZ for vacation. I couldnt believe how much was going on and was going to be going on. Sure, we still get shafted by some bands (I'm looking at you, HWM) but theres plenty more to keep my mind occupated to somewhat forget that. Long story short, the amount of concerts going on here vs. the amount of concerts going on there was a deciding factor in me moving. So, i dont know how i would look at it. You could say the rock and roll ruined my life by making me want to move away from my friends, family & job. But it also bettered my life because I'm with someone I can finally go to those shows with. And Scott, don't worry. Theres someone out there. It's going to happen when you least expect it, trust me. I was in the same boat you were in
  9. i know how you feel. I too live in AZ and was quite upset that they didn't announce any dates for here. but hopefully, they will make it out sometime this year
  10. whats the fun in "collecting" something millions of people can go out to wal-mart or best buy and pick up for a few bucks? It's much more fun knowing you are one out of only a handful of people to have something, and even then yours is unique. as far as sound, as everyone said, it's alot more warmer and feels more personal
  11. I read And the Ass Saw the Angel by Nick Cave not too long ago. Good book, but weird as fuck. I just started Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut. it's pretty good so far
  12. I love the Powerglove, it's so bad. +1 for the Wizard reference
  13. me and my old lady, nov. 2007 I was possibly drunk, i don't remember
  14. and sub-par chinese is the worst of the bunch backed 100%. There is no so-so chinese food. there's either good chinese food or bad chinese food. the only ethnic food I dont find a middle ground with
  15. murder ballads is my favorite (o'mally's bar, stagger lee and where the wild roses grow are my 3 favorites), but honestly, i havent heard a nick cave cd i didnt like
  16. But its been stated in many articles, including the recent one posted from Time.com, that the reason the numbers are so low is because it is not reported from indie stores, who sell a majority of records. I;m sure if the indie stores reported how much vinyl they sold, the numbers would be alot higher
  17. although all of them are funny, this is the one that made me actually laugh. and try to find him....
  18. we both like the same music, so its not like theres stuff i dont like in there
