  1. My mom just finished going through treatment in the spring. well last year, with some follow-up stuff every month or so to make sure it was gone. officially cancer free in the spring. She hid it pretty well, with only my dad knowing, until one day when he couldn't take her to the hospital and I had to drive. I later found out it was her second time having cancer. the first being when I was really young, and I had no idea, when apparently all of my extended family did. That being said - she is a 2 time survivor, but I personally didn't really have to deal with anything, as I found out near the end when everything was pretty much ok. Don't know why someone would hide that from their family. Well, maybe I do, but I don't agree with the reasoning's what so ever. And from what I know, the more times you get it, the higher the chance of getting it again, so that scares the shit out of me all the time. Anyways, best wishes to you and your family. no one deserves to have to go through this shit.
  2. Received a record from Drinker the other day. packed well, received in timely fashion. would buy from again.
  3. Friends of mine who are not streetlight or even ska fans seem to love this record.
  4. I would personally return it, especially with amazon. there return process is simple and almost effortless. I received the wrong item from amazon.ca today. I called them up and was on hold for maybe 5 minutes, and the e-mailed me a pre-paid postage slip, that I just printed off, and stuck on the original box and sent back. If you do it, ask them if they can send the new on in a record mailer. I know they have em, because that's how mine came. Curious to see if they would do it by request.
  5. i saw the ET soundtrack that looked like it had a die cut image inside of ET's face at a record store around here, so I'm sure its possible. never seen that LTJ record though.
  6. as far as I know, its only black. and as of numbers, I can't find them anywhere, don't think they were ever announced. If someone knows, i'd really like to know as well.
  7. It has seemed to be down quite often lately, but I can't stand the single line format of deadformat. Are there any other good ones I might not know about?
  8. depending on where they play, they only allow 1-2. they also reserve boxes for each date, so even if your at the first show, if they 'sell out' they still have some for the next run of shows.
  9. i'd definitley prefer being displayed as a record in a frame, then a pile of ash in a pot. seriously think its a pretty cool way to be remembered. as for what i'd have on it? probably an intro / outro of me talking, and some songs that defined my life. not as cool as some creepy metal album, but whatever.
  10. agree everything said in terms of why the hell not let them build it? recent surveys put the american muslim population anywhere between 2 milliion and 7 million (i know. thats a wide gap. based on different surveys/estimations. not my numbers). how are these people any less american than the rest? and why should they not have the same rights as any other americans?
  11. I've seen it in a number of shops here in Toronto, and few places online. only place I can remember is amazon http://www.amazon.com/Mariachi-El-Bronx-Vinyl/dp/B002FOQY3Q/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1282765133&sr=8-3
  12. was this record only pressed on clear, or is there a black variant out there? I want to pick this up, but have been told its also on black, and I want to make sure I grab the clear. a couple shops around here have it, but can't tell me if they're black or clear. figured someone on here may know. Thanks, Chris
  13. The records I ordered were from amazon.com . I re-ordered from amazon.ca after the wrong records were shipped, and i realized it was cheaper. the order on .ca went through last week, and it says they won't ship till Friday. I've noticed most records they sell have whack shipping dates, some say they ship in 8 weeks. Don't understand it at all. Either way, I'm assuming amazon.ca packs the same as the rest of em, but i guess i'll see on monday/tuesday. When the package arrives, i'll try and remember to post details on here. Also, for anyone hesitant to order from amazon and doesn't want to risk it due to packaging. unless you think its going to sell out everywhere else before you get the package, there's really no risk. If there are any problems whatsoever, even from manufacturing process, or other-wise out of their hands, they will issue a full refund or ship out another one promptly. Their customer service is far-beyond anywhere else. I've had an issue with another company sending out the wrong items, and it was their policy I pay the return shipping. Amazon not only refunded my money in full, they let me keep the 2 wrong items.
  14. I just received two LPs from them last week, shipped to Canada. the box was way too big. they fit in perfect width wise, length has an extra inch or so, and they were laid flat, so there was room for them to slide back n forth. that being said, they used airbag type padding (if you've ever ordered from amazon, I'm sure you've seen this) on top of the records, and i'm mystified as to how there was absolutely no damage (not even a dinged corner. Also, they shipped me the wrong records. I found the same ones on amazon.ca for a few bucks cheaper, so i re-ordered from them, thinking I would just return the 2 mistakes (basically generic presses instead of limited editions as ordered). not only did Amazon.com refund my money in full within a matter of hours, they let me keep the miss-ships.
  15. purple actually looks really cool. not so much a fan of the other.
  16. anyone know if these would be available at either of the Canadian locations? (both in the Toronto area) shipping to Canada is a bitch. and I wouldn't know if either of em generally carry vinyl - I've never been there, and just found out we actually had some.
  17. the only place i know that's been on a show like this in TO was for one of those restaurant makeover shows. either way, they probably shouldn't have listened to a word they said for the reno's / menu change, because they ended up having to sell the place, and the new owners tried to keep it goin as is, and its just a flop. although they do have a great burger, everything else is pretty much shit.
  18. i googled the shit out of it. I have seen that ebay one, and made an offer before. not looking to spend over 80 bucks on it. i'm in canada - so shipping + conversion = shitty. there's one for about 45, from Europe. fucking guy will ship to the states but not here. and theres always dicks on message boards, its a fact of the internet. everyone seems pretty cool so far though, so whatever.
  19. looking for Somewhere in the Between on either orange or blue.
  20. and here I thought peoples tastes in music were subjective. oh my.
  21. you were right not pressed and it wasn't that good it was a stupid LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME CASHGRAB so whatever I don't even consider it a release. I personally don't see this release as a cash grab. Tomas Kalnoky wanted to release it as he originally intended to (mind you, i'm sure his overall ideas changed over the years). Plus, I think its a much better recording. the bass lines, and horn section were redone on many parts. For me, its the horns that really make this record what it is. and in that sense, I don't see how anyone can compare the original recording to SM version. That being said - I love both versions.
  22. google has stopped working. I can't find anything definitive. I'm relatively new to the whole vinyl thing, so maybe I just don't know what to look for. I was recommended to this forum by some friends who seem to think everyone here is nice and helpful. and as per the original post, i obviously know a bit about what I'm asking, thanks to goggle. I'm looking for definitive answers which I couldn't find.
  23. Curious as to the pressing info on Streetlight Manifesto's everything goes numb. I've scoured the web and can't seem to find any solid numbers or anything. I know Vinyl collective did the exclusive white. would this be the same as the white double LP currently available on Victory's website? and according to vinyl collective, there was also a red pressing. is this the same as the double lp red/grey? I've been told these were pressed as a single lp, opposed to double, and that these are new pressings, but the guy who 'owned' them sold them, and has no pictures or proof, and the web doesn't seem to have any info what-so-ever on this. any help on this would be appreciated. also curious if anyone knows if keasby nights was released on vinyl. to the best of my knowledge it hasn't. Also interested in picking up somehwere in the between on orange or blue, so if anyone is selling, let me know. Cheers, Chris
