What are the HWM variants? I haven't seen any that I can recall
I would describe my color as blue-green.
Yeah, it does have a bluish/green tinge to it, but its considered grey. From what I understand, it was 300 grey and 5,000 (yes, five thousand) on black. I doubt they've repressed it.

I want to go to SXSW sometime, to anyone living there: how did Austin, TX become the hub of music that it's become?
- Jeff
Because it rules.
Sorry, I don't have a straight answer. But thats truth!
-
Pretty sure it was Hopeless, but I can't remember. Last one I saw on ebay went for ~$80.

I know the left of leaving record had a pressing on burgundy. hoping they do something cool wth this one
Yup, Left and Leaving had a burgandy pressing. Limited to 300 IIRC.
I'd love colored vinyl for the new record, but I'll just be happy to have it whenever it comes out (whatever color it is).

Yeah, I know what you mean with the HWM. Their last couple records were subpar, but they've meant a whole lot to me for 8 years now and have gotten me through some rough shit. I have no tattoos, band logos or otherwise, but if I were to get a band tattoo it would most definitely be HWM. They're more than just a cool band for me, ya know?
-
Why exactly would it matter how long they've been broken up? I mean, its good to have some solid reasoning behind getting band tattoos, otherwise you wind up getting stupid shit like an MXPX tattoo in high school (as mentioned before). However, I can't really understand your rules.
They're just personal rules, dude. You don't have to understand them.
I don't have any tattoos, anyway.
No, I know I don't have to get them, I was just curious if you had any specific reasoning. Thats all.
-
My rule for band tattoos is this:
1. The band have to be broken up for at least 10 years
2. The band have to have broken up after releasing their best album
So currently, Jawbreaker qualifies. Next year, Refused will qualify, too.

Anyways, I think if a person feels a personal, strong, significant connection to a band in some way, then get a tattoo if thats what floats your boat. If a band made a significant impact on a person, then that tattoo would remain relevent to that person throughout their life, even if they no longer enjoy the band. If your only reasoning for a band tattoo is "OMFG THESE GUYS ARE TOTALLY SWEET!" then I think one should pass.

Let us know if he shows up or not. I'm in California, so its not going to air for a couple hours still (and probably wouldn't get around to watching it till tomorrow).

hes apparently on letterman tonight?
Hmm... I saw that info on the YouTube response, but he's not listed in my TV's on-screen cable info nor on the Letterman site. However, I TIVO'd it anyway because I am very curious to see if Tay Zonday addresses the fact that everyone sees him as a big punchline while he apparently takes himself quite seriously.

I buy the vinyl and burn/download the mp3's.
I've downloaded/burned CD's in the past. Usually its stuff that I wouldn't ever even buy in the first place and could live without. Sometimes I really grow to like a band because of downloading, and then I wind up buying their music. I first got into Drag the River because a friend burned me their CD. I liked it and had him burn me a couple more. I wound up falling in love and bought their entire discography through Suburban Home on CD and later bought everything on vinyl as well. I always support bands/labels I love.

Chocolate Rain- Darth Vader remix
Vanilla Snow- parody
I haven't even seen most of these. Just search "Chocolate Rain" or "Tay Zonday" and you'll get lots of ridiculous parodies, videos, remixes, etc. Its really quite stupid.
-
I have no idea what anyone is talking about and I'm too lazy to go to youtube to find out
From what seemed like out of nowhere, a few weeks back, some videos/songs by a guy named Tay Zonday just started popping up all over the internet. They've become a big internet phenomena, especially Chocolate Rain, which has already been parodied at least three times that I can recall (most recently by Tre Cool of Green Day).

for your jawbreaker collection you can get a RED samiam/jawbreaker split from no idea and also i see the jawbreaker/crimpshrine split a lot on ebay
How much does the Jawbreaker/Crimpshrine split usually sell for on ebay?

I was questioning my "blue out of 20" cuz it didn't look very blue. I was also pissed about spending so much on shipping (BIN was $21.99, total was $29.99) especially since the guy was only a couple hours up the road from me. However, it came here really quickly and everything so I let it go.

"Hooch is crazy."
"Appletini please... easy on the 'tini."
-
Context: JD is cleaning up the yard after a bunch of drag queens were partying, he picks up a marini glass and thinks to himself... "Hmmm... appletini. Since when did they start drinking straight guy drinks?"
Perhaps not verbatim, but funny.
-
Honestly, this is one of those things that I don't see the humor in at all. Everyone has been going apeshit over this guy, but its just not funny. Yeah, his voice is silly, but it didn't even make me chuckle. Then of course there's the whole 'pull away from the mic to breathe in' thing that I've heard people stand around and laugh about for 20 minutes straight. I don't see how thats funny either.
Overall, this does not deserve to be the internet phenomena it has become.

Are they all on colored vinyl or are were some pressed on black?
-
Doh! Dim, I screwed up... your post made me laugh (I'm a huge Scrubs fan) and I was trying to hit "exalt" but accidentally hit "smite". I don't know how. I owe you a couple kharma points when it lets me do it again.

Try paying with PayPal...

Whats a decent price for an original? There's one in a local record store for $40. I've been on the fence about picking it up for a while now.
-
includes: Dear You - repress on blue/white swirl 2xLP
Not much of a Jawbreaker vinyl geek, but I thought the blue Dear You vinyl was the original pressing. Or was it repressed on blue later on as well?
-
Oh yeah, if you're ordering the Arrivals LP I highly suggest picking up the Dear Landlord/Chinese Telephones split!
-
Git Some are an amazingly awesome group of dudes and they put on a stellar live show. Can't get into their recordings. I might pick up the In the Red split though, even though I have a hard time getting into them.

My friend said that they actually used his name in an episode at the end of the last season. Apparently it was really subtle and you wouldn't necissarily catch it unless you were paying close attention.
IF ANYONE KNOWS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT, DO NOT SPOIL IT! I NEVER SAW THAT SEASON AND AM WAITING FOR THE DVDS!
