Heh. I suppose so. There is another shop on the other end of town that has a better selection for me, so I buy some stuff there. Unfortunately, I know they're not doing too well either. Won't be long till they too fall victim to the mp3 generation.

I stopped by my local indie music shop for the first time in about a month to visit my buddy who works there. It was 3 in the afternoon and the first thing I noticed were the lights were off and the gates were pulled over the door. I got closer and saw a small, handwritten sign that read, "Thanks for stopping by, but we've closed. Sales too low, overhead too high."

Now, their vinyl selection wasn't that great, and I don't buy CD's, so I haven't really bought anything there in ages. However, when an independent shop closes down, its truly a bummer. Especially since their demise can pretty much be blamed on internet downloading.

I'm starting school in the fall, but I don't start classes till September 25. Its really late, I know. Thats just how most of the University of California campuses do it. I should have my BA in history at the end of the school year. I'm going crazy, I hate it. I want to go to art school.

do it. I loved art school. so great. I never understood all the people that were paying so much for college and hated their major. fuck, if I was choosing something to do for the rest of my life and paying more money than I'd like to do it, i'm damn well sure it's going to be something I want to do.

Honestly, I didn't hate it so much when I started, but by the end of my third year I was burnt out. I'm entering my fifth year (I switched majors from philosophy to history and that kinda set me back) and I'm just going to finish and get a degree. Then I'm going to art school for photography.

My first show was Social Distortion at the House of Blues in Anaheim, Ca. Sum 41 were the openers. This was literally just a couple months before they blew up on MTV and the radio. Everyone was standing around staring at eachother saying, "WTF?" while they played.

I was 15.

And this thread is one of the only I've ever read in which there's less than a handful of people shitting on the topic at hand. I hate to bring up the negative when there's so much positive, I just read that and got disgusted and realized that's my beef with the users on the site in general.

I agree, the people on that site can be fucking stupid. That being said, I'm a registered user (as of only a couple weeks ago). I really don't know why I broke down and registered. I'm the dude that told that guy to stop being a Negative Nancy.

yea, office is pretty much the only show I get bummed if I miss. 24, but last season was horrible and I was happy when it ended, so they'll have to do a lot this year.

I read an interview with one of the creators of 24 or someone like that and they're well aware that they dropped the ball this year. They're going to be trying really hard to make these next two seasons top notch (then its over, I believe).

They were amazing. I'm glad I was able to see them once, at their second to last show ever in LA at the Troubadour. Would have went to the last show, but it was 21+ and I was only 20.

I'm pretty into this color scheme. Yeah, its a bit boring, but its really easy on the eyes, and using obnoxious colors gets annoying. Plus, I'm already used to this scheme and I fear change.

Wow. First of all, thats ridiculously high. Second, there are parties EVERYWHERE and all the time during the Fest, why have a party going at the place you're trying to sleep at? Personally, I'm splitting my hotel room with one other person at a much cheaper and quieter hotel. That way, if I decide I want to take a rest from drinking/partying at some random hour of the day, I can head back to the hotel and not have to worry about whether the 6 dudes I'm splitting the room with are all getting wasted or if I'm going to have to wind up sleeping in the tub.

Sorry for the rant, its not directed at you Scott. Its just my take on the "Fest hotel" in general.

Pretty sure I read the pressing info on this site before (may have even been in this thread, but I'm too lazy to go back through it). IIRC the pressing info was the following:

179 coke bottle clear

200 red

700 orange
