Well its more so me just wanting to do better quality recordings that will be meant for my own ears but at the same time I'de like to be able to do recordings worthy of showing the public if I feel like it, ya kno? I'll mostly be recording guitars/bass and eventually I would like to record drums and maybe a live piano at some point. Basically I don't want to be too limited on what I can do with the tools I'll have at hand. I found this 8 input interface by Presonus that looked capable of the challenge, each input has a preamp. Its called the Firestudio Project. Also I would like to start putting my own music/soundtrack to film. Not any specifc type of movie or anything, just looking to grow and extend my own creativity for personal pleasure. But I would really like if it could be of a quality worth showing people outside of my friends, etc. Yeah and the price of Logic is alot more appealing to Pro Tools too ha

I'm looking into putting together a recording setup at home and am a little torn between what to do. Originally I planned on just building a good desktop PC to run pro tools or any other Window compatible recording software. But now I've looked into the iMac with logic and it seems Logic is a little more user friendly and ideal for smaller scale recordings. I'm startin from scratch here, any thoughts good people of VC?
