i got a blackberry pearl a while back. tell you the truth, not too impressed with it. of course, i'm a mac guy, and most of the smart phones are only PC compatible. but the pearl's qwerty keyboard is too compact, not a whole lot on it that i really use everyday. my trackball always fucks up, and i'm always having to restart it because i get a "sim card error". not recommended unless you work for a company that'll buy you one. which is why as soon as i get the money, i'm getting an iphone. i know you didn't mention the pearl, but if you were thinking about it, i'd advise against it.

i only collect multiples of bands i really, really care about. or if the packaging and the color of the record is so insane, that i want all of them. but other than that, i just collect titles. i'd rather have 100 different titles, than 100 records and only have like 50 titles.

man, i just made a trade for this record. i almost feel bad now. maybe i didn't give him enough. i had no idea it was going for that much. it hasn't been OOP that long, has it?

a black copy just went for $46 about a week ago on ebay. and a blue copy is at $71 right now, with about 12 hours left. you can almost bet that it will go for at least $80 when it's all said and done.

would it be hilarious if everyone boycotted his bid, and he only sold it for what he bought it for? granted, that's like the whole "don't buy gas day" in an attempt for gas prices to drop, it'll never happen. but it would be comical nonetheless.

i normally don't have that much to say about anything. but i know this subject has been something on a lot of people's minds lately. LJ's are for attention craved inter-nerds.

that's exactly my point. that's why they are called "tour presses". it's why they are intended to be so rare. because, usually, if you aren't at the show, you don't have a very good chance at getting one. intended to be sold for the people at the shows. in my personal opinion, i just believe that it is shitty for people to be hoarding such a rare record to give to people who weren't there to enjoy the show in the first place. it just doesn't give the people who are going to the show, and want one, a very good chance of getting one. not trying to sound like the people who are at the shows "deserve" one or anything. if that was the case, they would have made like 1500 copies. all i'm saying is that it lessens the chance of people who are taking the time to be there, a copy. not trying to sound like a dick, or start shit via a message board, cuz i'm totally not "that guy". i just don't think it's very fair. but then again, i guess all's fair in love and vinyl these days.

i believe the against me copy of new wave is 180 grams, and its on trans yellow.

"supposedly the HWM merch table was making people promise that they weren't going to sell them on ebay. i don't know if some of these people know how absolutley bummed out it's going to make the people who are ACTUALLY going to the shows (many making long weekend trips for them, including myself), if they are not able to pick up one or both of these releases. i for one, have been really looking forward to this show and being able to pick up these two records. and i know that i'll be pissed to see them gone, knowing that people were buying multiples. as for buying them, and trading them later, i'm all for that. but buying multiple copies to sell on ebay or give to people who weren't even at the shows...i think that is total bs. the tour only copies are intended to be special momentos for the people who were there enjoying the experience, giving them something cool to hang on to. something to remember one of their favorite bands by, and the night they came back to let us all sing together one more time. anyway, that's my rant on it."

yep. if it sells out at the shows, fine. but if i see people walking around with like 3 or 4 copies a piece, that will be a true bummer. guess what? if you wanted a copy, you should've bought a ticket and made the drive like everyone else.

i don't understand why people hate on versions either. what do people expect them to do? be like hatebreed or some shit, and repeatedly churn out the same unimaginative crap. this record shreds. and you got to give them props for writing it as a three piece. this shit is inventive.

i hope there's still some left for the feb 2nd show. it sounds like people are going to be hoarding them pretty hard.
