I don't think its a dick move at all. I had a few extra bucks, picked one up, looking to trade. I am not looking to rip someone off / take advantage. Records are like quasi-grownup baseball cards in some ways. I got this, you got that, we both want what the other has, lets trade. If it was solely to increase the value of my collection / make money, this would be on ebay like someone has it there now. Want to go e-mail him and let him know he's unethical?

This is the recent offering that was in a black sleeve and came with a slipmat. Limited to 75. I picked up a second with the sole intent with getting into trading. Does the popularity of a band really matter? Isn't the main, and almost only, concern you should have about a band is whether the music is good or not? If Thursday, or any band, stops being a draw, they go away. They achieve a level of success, they are afforded the ability to stick around. I never got the mentality that once a band moves past playing my basement, they are no longer good because they are no longer my personal secret. Sure, there is something annoying about an uninformed person latching onto a band once they become popular, but it would be hard to think that every single person reading this didn't start off in a similar fashion. I don't mean to rant at you in particular, but I've seen this sort of stuff popping up a lot lately (mainly Gaslight) and it's bugging me. With the state of the music industry being what it is, you almost need to hope that your favorite bands can tour and be successful. Without it, many promising bands will fade even quicker than has been the normal rate.

This move I think was pretty obvious and will work out for the band and label. That said, Epitaph is quickly becoming a refuge for former major label bands - Thursday, New Found Glory, Story of the Year... Vagrant has done this too. Not a bad thing, in fact a good thing that can further prove that you need a label to be interested in your band, not just something that looks at a band as potential profit.

how is this milking their fans? oh i get it, it's metallica, so that's what we do. these albums aren't the easiest to find on vinyl and the ones out there were not done with a collector in mind. if this were another band, people wouldn't use it as an excuse to let their opinion shine though, it would be cool. what if it was ac/dc doing it? would that be milking? or what if it were simply a band you liked?

got there late, only saw CIS and Capital. and there was re-entry. After I got my CIS LP, I took it out to my car and sweet parking spot as to not carry it around. Hope that venue does more shows, it's a good-sized place.
