PO - Brand New - Science Fiction
Boojie Horsie replied to marc32137's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand The Big Bang Theory. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rajs nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike The Big Bang Theory truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Sheldons existencial catchphrase "Bazinga," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Sheldons genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. And yes by the way, I DO have a The Big Bang Theory tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. -

kinda unrelated to this particular case because of like.. solid proof, but there has to be some middle ground where victims feel safe and people accused know that there is justice and they wont get their lives ruined because of rumors. Its hard on their wives, children and relatives and its easy to claim they shouldn't have done this in the first place but the truth is, its the mobs who hurt and persecute them all. I dont have a solution for that 2nd part though.. if everyone shut up and just let the court decide, it would still shame the relatives but hey.. its just a discussion. For whoever is pissed at the reddit super detective, I have not read the thread so i dont know how its handled but i can imagine it being very one sided.. anyway, Questioning whatever seems like the truth should not be considered disrespectful if its well done however i can see how even the most respectful investigation can feel hurtful to someone who had to find the courage to speak up. Not defending people of false allegations is not the solution to this though. -

i was sure the shows were already cancelled. really wonder how bad it could turn.. cant remember a band going ahead with their tour after allegations (confirmed and weirdly half acknowledged at this point) -

no once i attempted to say it was okay. its an opinion, i tried as much as possible to specify how serious were his actions and the consequences for the victim(S because of course there are more) but is it so twisted of me to see a difference between an actual child predator and an immature little fuck who lacks judgement? -

best news in years.. remember seeing these guys open for good riddance in a 7$ show back in like 95 in a bowling alley in my shitty hometown and they were assholes but fuck, they were badasses. they played harder than most bands and won the crowd. Turns they weren't really assholes and just really badass. one of my all time favorite albums.

same thing here since 2 weeks i finally got into Your Favorite weapon which i actually hated and Daisy which i like but didnt feel passionate about. also, am i the only jerk who still waits, fingers crossed, for a CD in the mail? Otherwise i am really curious what my 80 CAD$ bought me.. i know BN have been kinda good to their fanbase even though its a little bigger than what they can manage but this whole super limited thing is driving me nuts -

no hate but 10 times in a row is way too much for most records. Not sure about calling them classics but i loved Turn the radio off A LOT back then and still see it like an album thats been important to me through my youth. They are really good musicians too, However, ska punk was a trend that was exciting for the time it lasted and Why do they rock so hard was too late and nowhere near as good as the previous one was. -

i could burn one but i like having the real thing, i put a lot of sentimental value in that. I hate Mp3s other than convenience on the go but when i have access to physical formats, id rather play a reel big fish cd 10 times in a row than listen to mp3s. Only thing i hate about the bonus cd is that its in an enveloppe and not a case that will fit with the others and that i will have to be super careful so my cat cannot access the sleeve and destroys it.. but its not a real problem since i didnt even receive one. -

id probably listen to the CD more often than the record to be honest.. CDs is so convenient when you are doing other hand consuming things. -

apparently purchases made through paypal linked to your bank account, using your bank account money are actually Echecks and take longer to clear out. Cds will ship once the payment officially goes through, so will the digital download. -
