  1. If you are from the US, it turns out the difference between Rough Trade and Piccadilly is a whopping 1 pound. Either way, I'd get on the white variant while you can. Huge fan of his music...just gets better (and different) with every release.
  2. Yeah...I wondered that as well. Maybe they are going to be punks and offer some type of "bundle package" for the full length record that contains a colored variant of the EP. Also, Vagrant says 1500 copies, whereas Heavenly says "limited'. Come on, aren't all vinyl "limited"? If you call it limited, you should state the amount being pressed, period. Otherwise, don't use the word "limited". Didn't Jack White resell the White Stripes Elephant as "limited", which meant 10,000 copies on colored vinyl, only to repress it again on black vinyl. Limited my ass....
  3. Yeah...but the last post wasn't a Pre Order, it wasn't correct and didn't have the right information...this does.
  4. Limited pressings by both Heavenly Records in the UK/Europe and Vagrant for USA/Canada... only available through these websites: Vagrant says they are only going to press 1500 copies and Heavenly is just saying "limited". Vagrant: http://www.vagrant.com/artists/bio/83-marklanegan Heavenly: http://heavenlyemporium.greedbag.com/buy/no-bells-on-sunday/ Beyond this limited EP, there will also be a new record ...New Video and Announcement is here: http://heavenlyrecording.com/news/2014/07/watch-mark-lanegan-band-new-video-plus-ep-and-album-announcement/
  5. You know the deal....these will go quickly! http://www.newburycomics.com
  6. go to http://hleithauser.tumblr.com and scroll down a few posts....it shows the Leithauser Virus. No idea what it means, but I laughed when I read it. Not sure what the hell it means.
  7. Also...how the hell do post images on this board? I can't copy and paste, but there has to be a way to do this for pics and links.
  8. Did you notice on his website that a few orders of the vinyl will contain the Hamilton Computer Virus? I have no idea what this means, but it sounds funny. This record is great...been listening it to it all week.....very excited to hear the 4 bonus tracks.
  9. My copy came with a big old dent in the lower right corner, which was lame. Then I opened it and thought, wow, this looks great. Then I looked at the records, the sleeves, etc. and thought this is phenomenal. Then I realized that I had 9 records, of which one was an autographed test press copy of Motorcade of Generosity...and I though...wow, for $99, I think I just got the deal of a lifetime....who cares about the packaging scrape, because this is better than awesome! Also....the test press is dated from March of 2013....this must have taken Cake a long time to put together!
  10. I'd bet at the end of the day, the only people that are losing on this are: 1) Cake 2) ConneXtion The winners are lucky f'ers like me (and everyone on this thread) that was able to buy this boxset for $99, have it shipped to my house for $35 and all I literally did was pay someone online..... and then the boxset showed up at my house!
  11. I think you are balls deep crazy! Cake just released their entire catalogue on vinyl for $99. 8 multi colored, remastered beautiful records on heavy weight vinyl for $99....with the chance of a test press! Let's simply things and look at it from the band's perspective. People are paying $300 on Ebay for this.....wait a second, if people are buying it for $300, why didn't Cake sell it for $300? Oh yeah, because that wouldn't defeat the purpose of putting the music in the hands of the fans that have supported them over the years. Cake didn't do this for money...period! The markup on shipping is because someone has to handle distribution. Do the members of Cake have the time to place 8 records in a beautiful box, tape the box up and send it to you? Hell No....and neither do I! Yes, $35 is a lot, but if someone here makes a regular habit of purchasing 8 records (maybe 9 if your lucky) at a time and having them shipped, then I'm guessing the cost isn't that far off. Ok...so WHAT IF ConneXtion is making a profit on shipping of $20 per unit? What if there were 400 extra units that needed to be shipped? Holy crap...ConneXtion just had a Gross Sale of $8,000 (of course, this is all hypothetical). But...they had to pay for the time someone spent taping the boxes, placing and printing the labels....answering a ridiculous amount of emails from the fans. It's time consuming, laborious and really, really hard work. Either way you cut it, nobody is making money off this....there is no conspiracy theory. What is remaining is a band that had a much higher demand than expected. That band was a big reason people were first in line to buy records from a local record shop. What is remaining is a band that is trying to appease the fans. What remains is Connextion working their ass off and trying to resolve all of the orders that were placed...and probably not making dick off of this...without one complaint. I'd say Connextion got handed the short straw on this transaction and handled it like champs! This is a classic
  12. Whoop...whoop....mine shipped today! I am officially off of my soapbox!
  13. Yeah...I agree. The silly thing is you know that Cake isn't doing this for the cash and the demand was just a lot higher than they anticipated. I'm sure Cake was taken by surprise with the demand. It's good they are pressing more. I'm more annoyed that I gave them money, but they have no information on when I'll get it. Heck, I'm not the brightest guy, but it seems like it wouldn't be too hard to create a pop-up website that only allowed X amount of orders to be placed and that it wouldn't be too hard to know how many box sets you had available to ship. What a massive error to allow people to buy something that you don't have the inventory for! Why would you represent that you had something available to purchase only to find out you don't. What employee went, "Hey, we probably should have only allowed 200 orders instead of 400 orders, since we only have 200 boxsets" (as an example..I have no idea how many orders they took)....but I do know they took money from me for something that wasn't available....and that is simply not cool! Clearly I want this and I don't intend to cancel...just disappointing is all.
  14. When I placed my order, iit immediately said "ready to ship". I emailed them today...and they told me that my order would ship in the 2nd round of shipping. Ok...so I asked them what type of a timeline I could expect on the 2nd round...days...weeks..months? They emailed me back the Cake Facebook statement "Cake listeners...we have heard you...", but provided zero information on when the next round would be. Seriously? I think it's clear that nobody has any idea when the 2nd round is actually going to be available, but I'd bet that it's months as well. What a total cluster F...again, I ordered 2 additional copies of Live at The Crystal to give out as gifts along with the boxset, so I'm guessing that my order got placed secondary to anyone that ordered the box set as a stand alone purchase. Sure..I'm glad I'll get it in the long run, but it seems pretty misleading to take my $200 and not provide any update on a timeline. Also they basically dodged a point blank question about the expected timeline of this being released...it all just seems in poor taste and terrible diplomacy. This wasn't advertised as a "pre-order" and my shipping status from the second I paid was "ready to ship"....now it's stuck in purgatory with no answers. Booohhh!
  15. I ordered the box set and 2 copies of Live at Crystal Ballroom (presents for friends) and it still says waiting to ship. Maybe if I just ordered the box set, it would have gone out faster!
  16. If I'm right, you can still get Live at The Crystal Ballroom, which if you are a Cake fan, is awesome and the set list is like a greatest hits record. That is supposed to be "limited", so at least all the peeps that got nothing can still get something!
  17. Walter Martin's new solo record is available for preorder here: http://waltermartinmusic.com/preorder
  18. I'd bet that Cake releases this as a standard black vinyl box set after all this debacle. Supply and Demand. The supply was smaller than the demand, so go press some more and make the fans happy. I think it's the right thing to do!
  19. The email from Cake announcing this just hit my inbox...I bet this sells out within an hour!
  20. Got the box set and an extra copy of Live at Crystal Ballroom to send to a friend of mine! Boohh...to the F'n Yahhh!
  21. I still haven't see the email come out about being able to purchase this from them directly. Apparently the term "shortly" is more than 24 hours, which is news to me!
  22. I am actually starting to think that there won't be a link to buy, but rather, this is an old school "snail mail", where you send a check in. Any thoughts?
  23. And if I'm right, the sticker is pricing it at $129.99. That is what I would call a f'n bargain for a box set. The flippers are going to kill with this and I'm going to kill the flippers to get a copy of this at a decent price!
