  9. I like how this says on the back "Warning: Unauthorized reproduction of this recording is a violation of applicable laws. All violators will be pee'd on." Slightly Stoopid....Keeping San Diego classy...
  10. Not sure if this every got posted, but Hamilton Leithauser and Paul Maroon (of The Walkmen) are selling both of their records "Dear God" (which is only available on vinyl) and their Record Store Day Release "I Could Have Sworn" EP for a the sweet price of $33 for both, or $20 and $12 individually..... You can get it here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/HamiltonLeithauser?ref=hdr_shop_menu Great music...so if you are looking for something new, I'd pick it up!
  11. Yes....yes...yes. Such a great record and I'm glad they finally gave it a proper pressing. About f'n time!
  12. Agreed. This could have easily fit onto one record as well. They should have done a pressing that was on 1 vinyl at 33 rpm and a 2nd pressing on 2 LP at 45 rpm. Just saying...
  13. By the way, I am one of the lucky ones that actually saw Jeff perform live. Actually, I've seen him twice in concert, both times in Seattle. The first time was in a really small venue in Ballard. After the show, my girlfriend and I stayed to continue drinking and then Chris Cornell and Matt Cameron walked into the venue, which is when the bartender told us it was "time to go". As we were walking out, Jeff stopped us, talked it up a bit, tore a poster off the wall, autographed and handed it over. Just the nicest guy with the most beautiful voice I'll ever hear. Still a crying shame...
  14. Well, that would be about the nicest thing someone has done for me in a while. I'll actually only need one. Let me know how to proceed...and thanks so much!
  15. Well crud...this won't ship to the US. I'd like to get 2 copies of this, so if anyone will be kind enough to purchase and post them to me, I'll paypal you for the trouble with a little extra for a pint or two! Hit me up if you are willing!
  16. Just an FYI that there appears to be a 7" promo released with The Boy With A Thorn and the B side being If You Knew (live at Café Sine). I picked it up on Ebay today from a UK seller. Not sure if it is official or a bootleg, but it's out there. Anyone know anything about this Jeff Buckley 7"?
  17. Ok....that one is beyond my knowledge, so yeah...maybe I don't know what I'm doing. How do you know the difference between an MM and MC? I believe it has to do with turntable needle / cartridge...if so, I've got an Ortofon 2M blue Stylus on the Project Debut Carbon Esprit. Does that help?
  18. Easy answer on why I want 4 speakers. The room is large...about 1000 square feet, completely open and rectangular. I have two pair at one end and two pair at the other. I just thought two speakers wasn't enough to fill the room and I was right. Also, it would be nice to be able to shut down one zone and play the other, or both. I actually do know what I'm doing, but I was trying to get the price down (or possible functionality with the TV/DVD). I know nothing about in ceiling speakers, so I took a gamble on the Yamaha speakers (which cost about $450 for all 4), but sound isn't something you can really research when you buy on Amazon. They were returnable, so no big deal. Cost of trying...brought me to better speakers. As for the AMP, I originally bought it thinking I was going to integrate the TV / DVD, but alas, I opted for a wireless soundbar / woofer purely for the look of it when it was mounted (fit the room décor better)...so, with more planning, I would have gone with a audio amp, not a surround sound amp. The problem was that I missed my window to return the surround sound amp, so now I'm stuck with the thing. Sure, I could sell it on Craigslist for half price pretty quick and my thought was that it would make more sense to return the PreAmp for $135 and buy an audio amp for around $400. Sell the surround sound amp for $250 and my little mistake really didn't cost me too much...and probably sounds great. Research would have saved the headache, but the hard part is done. Not sure if you have installed in ceiling speakers in a house that is already built, but it isn't easy. Working in an attic with insulation is f'n brutal. Either way, at this point, all I have to do is replace the amp...not too tough. Thanks for your feedback...much appreciated.
  19. Hopefully someone on this board knows a little more about amps and in ceiling speakers than I do. To start, I bought 4 in ceilings speakers on Amazon that are Yamaha NS-ICS600. I also bought a Yamama RX-V677 to power the whole thing and I'm running a Project Debut Carbon Esprit as the turntable. The whole thing is only to power music, from my turntable, from my phone, from cds, etc. No surround sound or tv is part of this system. Problem 1) - The speakers - Well....after installing the speakers, they sounded really poor. After more research, it turns out these speakers are made for smaller areas and have two inputs (2 lefts, 2 rights per speaker...requiring 2 speaker wires per speaker) and each speaker is a 60 watt / 60 watt speaker. Essentially two speakers in 1. Usually reserved for bathrooms, hallways, etc....So...I've already hit the return button on Amazon and currently have 4 Martin Logan ML80i speakers being delivered. I'll have to cut a slightly larger whole in the ceiling for installation, but I'm guessing these will sound better. Does anyone know if the Martin Logan speakers sound better than the Yamaha speakers? Problem 2) The amplifier - This is a three part problem. To sum it up, should I sell it and get a new one or go with the solutions below? 1) The amp has no Phono Input. The solution was to get a Project PreAmp so the turntable works. I've got it sitting at Magnolia HiFi waiting for me to pick it up. The pre-amp cost $130. Currently, if I try and play vinyl, even at full blast, it sounds severely muted. Again, the Project PreAmp should solve it, right? 2) No Bluetooth, just Airplay - That is my bad on poor research, but I think most amps have Bluetooth, or I could find one that does. I think you can buy a cheap input that goes into any Audio Input in the back of the receiver, which would add Bluetooth, right? 3) The amp is a 7.1 Surround system - I only need to power the 4 ceiling speakers. I currently have the four speakers plugged into the left, right, back left and back right speaker inputs, but I have a feeling that this doesn't really provide the stereo sound I'm looking for. Not sure if there is a question here, but is this common? So...to sum up my questions: A) Are the Martin Logan speakers going to sound better than the Yamahas? Would you ditch the amp and buy a new one? If so, why? If not, are my solutions good ones. C) If you ditched the amp and got a new one, what amp can power 4 speakers and has Bluetooth? D) Does the amp you are recommending mean I should return the Project PreAmp? Will the new amp not need a PreAmp for the Project Debut Carbon Esprit turntable? Thanks for any response you can give...this was poorly executed on my end, but I'm close to the finish line. I've clearly wasted hundreds on this already (I had to run 8 speaker wires to 4 speakers...only to use 4 of them...200 feet of wasted 12 gauge speaker wire) and I don't want to spend too much more. I just want a sleek sound in my living room / kitchen coming from the vinyl.
  20. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. It looks like I'll be picking this up...pretty excited to say the least!
  21. I was just about to pull the trigger on buying the Pro-ject Debut Carbon Esprit SB Turntable (The Turntable Lab upgraded version with acrylic platter and upgraded 2M Blue Stylus). However, I starting looking at other websites to see if the upgrade was worth it and it appears that others (like Best Buy) have the same basic model of DC Esprit BC, but that model has 33,45 and 78.....whereas the Turntable Lab version only has 33 and 45. Can anyone explain this? Is it just last year's model with Turntable Lab vs. this year's model sold everywhere else?
  22. It would appear that the good folks at Sonic Boom also created individual listings for individual represses on Discogs f and are selling them individually on Discogs as well. They are either taking box sets apart and selling them off or maybe somebody at Seattle Subpop dropped of a bunch of individual copies for Sonic Boom, but they aren't available individually as an official release.....sooner or later, someone will "complain" on Discogs that these aren't "official individual releases", which would eliminate the option to sell them individually (only as a boxset compilation), so get em while you can.
