The Beatles - Let It Be | Laser Videodisc
uglyorganist replied to andy.'s topic in Everything Else Message Board
It's possible that this is the documentary my dad used to tell me about. Said he saw it when it was released and it was sort of painful to watch as it was clear they hated each other (mainly Lennon/McCartney). There's rehearsal footage and live performances including the rooftop show. That about all I know. I've never seen it myself, so I'm not sure if this is it or something different.- 10 replies

13/14 Premier League Football Discussion
uglyorganist replied to partysmasher's topic in Everything Else Message Board
Yeah, nothing else to watch, haha. Neymar has been pretty damn good and Fred has impressed as well. I didn't think much of Fred in other games I've seen him. And how exactly did Tahiti get in? haha, good for them but man those games were brutal. -

As I said, I haven't seen him play enough to call him overrated. I honestly haven't been that impressed in the games I've seen him play with Brazil. If I hadn't known to watch for him, I wouldn't have picked him out as exceptional. That said, there are moments and of course the youtube videos that showcase some incredible ability. I'm excited to see him play more often though. -

He has some incredible skill but every time I see him with Brazil I don't get what all the hype is about, or how he fits into a team. I haven't seen a ton of games so I won't call him overrated. He could develop into something special and he was cheaper than I expected with all the talk about him. I don't know enough about him, do you think he'll fit in at barcelona? -

I wonder if Moyes will be able to get united to perform (aka win) as consistently as they did this year. Their team isn't crap, but the midfield is pretty weak to win the league. -

haha, yeah. Not the greatest game to watch. Thought that Remy shot was going in. -

I expected much more fight from Barca. Understand it was unlikely from the beginning and there was no Messi, but still thought they would at least want to win the game. Muller is a hell of a player. Vital for Bayern and Germany. -

Just saw the highlights. Hard to tell if Liverpool were that good or Newcastle is that bad. -

I don't really understand why anyone would want to leave Dortmund at the moment. How many clubs in the world are significantly better than them? Not many. I hope they stay significant for a while. Love how they play. Oh, and Suarez decided not to appeal the 10 game ban. Wonder if Liverpool will move him this summer. -

They're a great team to watch, but selling Gotze (release clause so not much they can do about it), and possibly letting Lewandowski and Hummels leave is a bit worrying. -

Anyone watch the game today? Great effort from Dortmund, they look like they can run forever. -

Bayerns midfield was incredible. Really protected their back four the entire game. I recall there being one shot on goal from Barca? Maybe I'm forgetting a few but still... Wow. Bayern have been on a tear this entire season but I wasn't expecting this. -

After a fairly boring bunch of games yesterday (watched the Everton and Arsenal games), today was sure crazy. City looked so comfortable and then just lost it. Why didn't Aguero play? Escapes a ban for the two footed stomp and sits the game out anyway. Odd. Then Suarez. haha, what the fuck. His goal could have a huge impact on the top 4. Looks like Arsenal should be in. Chelsea sure have been getting some bad decisions this week. And Bayern tore another team apart. Dortmund looked good too. So excited for the Champions League games, I don't even care that I have three midterms. -

The battle for 3rd and 4th should be exciting. Arsenal, Tottenham, and Chelsea are all so inconsistent it's hard to predict. At the moment, I have Chelsea and Arsenal. -

haha. Champions League should be good. Was hoping, like most people I think, that Barcelona would play Dortmund. I'm fine this way though. Interested in how Bayern will approach Barca. Sitting back and absorbing pressure seems effective for a lot of teams, but Bayern have the players to really go at Barca's defense. Thought PSG was surprisingly attacking in that second leg. -

Somewhat surprised to see Alves and Marcelo. Think Ashley Cole, Philip Lahm, and maybe some on smaller clubs, deserve a spot more. Thought maybe Mats Hummels would get some credit, since he was the center of a double winning Dortmund side. And Pirlo on an unbeaten Juventus and carrying Italy to the finals. Yaya Toure And Ribery and Van Persie have been in ridiculous form this past year. Not really a big deal though. Good players. -

They said "possibly early 2013" for a vinyl release on facebook. It's one of the first 10 or so comments on the preorder post they made yesterday. -

Well played Everton. They should have had 3 at least. -
I'm not sure how that argument made sense inside your head, but I'll play along. I would certainly refer to baseball as "volleyball" if the following were true. A. The sport was not one of the major sports in America, but was the most popular sport in much of the rest of the world. Which meant I had to watch foreign leagues to see the sport played at a high level. B. The majority of the world called it "volleyball" and only America called it something else. C. The team I followed had "volleyball" in the name. For example, Dodgers Volleyball Club. If those three things were true, like they are for football/soccer (which is what I alluded to in my initial response), then I would probably call the sport volleyball. As I said, if there was a chance the two "football" sports would be confused, I'd make it clear. I don't have a problem calling football "soccer" and American football "football" when the situation calls for it. The names don't make a difference. It's just what I'm used to calling it and I see no need to change what I'm normally do when there is no chance of confusion to appease a few people (or just you).

Almost everything I read/watch that has to do with the sport refers to it as football (even espn soccernet changed to espn FC). So it's football to me. If this were a NFL/EPL fantasy league thread, I'd be more clear. If people confuse the two in the EPL threads, fuck 'em.

This seems like an appropriate place to ask... do people say Starbies for Starbucks? I only know one person who says this. Don't know if she made it up or it's a cool thing to say or whatever.
