  1. ...ok...so if they're so into supporting independent record labels, then... where's my check?
  2. this is not the Pic of Destiny picture disc...it's only a tribute. rock!
  3. i consider it the same ways as i did...12 years ago...(fuuuuuck) when i started to buy vinyl...if i get it on color, that's a bonus...but i don't go out of my way to seek out a record specifically on color and/or because it's on colored vinyl. I grew up on vinyl, because that's what my dad listened to while growing up in the 80's. I remember when my dad bought a CD player(which was like $500 at at the time)...somewhere in the mid 80's and it was so convenient, but i still had that love of vinyl that never went away. i only "collect" pressings from one band: x JUD JUD x because they're the most completely ridiculous band ever to me In general i feel that treating records as collectibles is silly. I understand the idea of wanting all the colors...though...i just don't care enough to have multiples (aside from the stuff on my label). yes i do recognize the irony/hypocrisies of condemning collecting and still collecting one bands records.
  4. Yeah, the honor system was Dan from the Broadways(he sang 15 Minutes...sounds like a sleepy robot) and rob the drummer from the broadways. They were more angular and "grown up" than the Broadways but simply amazing in a total Jawbreaker rip-off kinda way. I couldn't get into that Whale horse CD too much. The Ghost's two full lengths were on Some Records(walter schriefels' label) and they had the previously mentioned split LP with prosperity wallet. I have an entire live set from the Ghost on CD. If you'd like a copy pm me we can trade for a mix CD or something fun like that. That goes for anybody
  5. I don't think I ever saw the ep on vinyl either. FYI Pre-Loved Ones
  6. hahha. no he didn't. record has been found and will be on it's way tomorrow. -j.
  7. Say goodbye to your record collection! Congrats otherwise!!!!
  8. http://www.myspace.com/undergroundcommuniquerecords same as the other poll from a few weeks back...just trying to make the label page more interactive. let me know what your favorite of the 6 songs up is and the top two winners stick around for 2 weeks. i generally change the songs on sunday, every two weeks. also, please suggest songs from the other UCR releases! thanks everybody, i'm a little late on this poll so please get your picks in ASAP!!
  9. randy, the only Ghost vinyl is the split 12" EP with Prosperity Wallet. Wunder Years, as far as i know did not and Hanalei...maybe the Parts and Accessories album...but i don't think so. Olehole will only be coming out on vinyl(but with a CD). There will be no standard CD jewel case packaging.
  10. Get the tattoo if they mean that much to you. When they broke up, if they do get back together all of that doesn't matter. What matters is that they mean something very important to you...even up to a point ala what you're implying with alkaline trio. Tattoos can mean a lot of things but they can also be reminders of where you were at a certain point in your life...so even if they get back together and suck they still mark an important part of your life for years x through y. or just pretend the bad record never came out...that's what I do with H2O's album Go, it never really came out. (I don't have an H2O tattoo) Besides, who's to say that they won't get back together in 15 years? Or in 6 months? In short: fuck the naysayers and get the tattoo now.
  11. sorry bud, i just can't bring myself to part with that. i'm a big vitreous humor sound, and they sound almost identical still as a band. this thread was more of a hey! cool bragz thread. sorry about that. there was also a midvale 7" of aid for airmen or something. heard they were good, but didn't get it because i actually haven't heard them yet. also had to put down the further seems forever split that has pride war on it. i always find so much awesome shit in this record store. they had a shitload of the NoFX 7" mailorder shit or whatever, plsu several MFATGG 7"s... Which MFATGG?????
  12. yeah Bryon from KOD/New Bruises was in Mid Carson July...so...he would be the first person i'd go to, but if you already got what they had...then i'll see about finding stuff for you! -j.
  13. I think I've seen these used at a store in chicago, I'll try to go out today and see if they're still there...definitely the jazz june split.
  14. That michiganfest set was worth the trip alone. Such an amazing day. That dvd doesn't even come close to showing how great of a day it was. The ghost, honor system, coalesce, isis. Goddamn that was a great day. Quote to top them all was from Steve Sweep: "the amazing part was he didn't stop playing on the way down". Yeah. He kept playing...the band heard him through the monitors. Amazing.
  15. that sounds about right...finding impossible items in off the wall places. SWEEP was simply a mind blowing band. Worked on such a higher level than evryone else...I cherish every memory of seeing that band play live. I miss Steve and I'lll probably never see him again as he and his wife moved to South America to be teachers. fuck...i gotta go put Sto Cazzo! on now.
  16. i only have access because most of those bands being from chicago and/or being closer to Polyvinyl HQ. i see their records used allllll the time. send me a list.
  17. +1 for lack of a better word is one of my favorite records of all time.
  18. uhm...well shit...i probably could have gotten you that LP for a lot cheaper... ...i just treat people how i'd like to be. I'm a little older than the average age around here and I kinda got to know a whole bunch of people from working/helping out at a few venues over the years...if I can use those resources in a positive way..then yeah, why not!?
  19. Which records do you need? The LPs will be easily obtained. Southern should have a bunch, I know I can get you a copy of the divot LP. The 7"s might be difficult, but I'll keep an eye out. Definitely not impossible. Their first 7" is impossible to find, no one in the band even had copies. Highly underrated band. +1 for having excellent taste.
