  1. Ok, I'm braced for the down votes but here goes >.< I remember Travis mentioning that Neighborhoods had been delayed but was there any word about when it was pushed back to? I couldn't find a confirmed date in the past several pages and just wanted to know if I had missed anything (been out of the loop for a while)
  2. EDIT: Nobody got back to me on these so I put them up on ebay. Sorry if anyone was interested!
  3. Hey guys! Looking to clear up some shelf space so I thought I'd ask around if anyone was interested in a few Rise Against records. I'm looking to move: The Sufferer and the Witness (Black/white swirl out of 2000) Hot Topic exclusive Siren Song of the Counter Culture (Red/Yellow swirl out of 2000) Hot Topic exclusive Long forgotten Songs: B sides and rarities (White out of 700) HT exclusive Message me with offers if you're interested! If you want all three I'm sure we could work out a deal. Thanks for looking
  4. What really made me notice the change was "The Take Over, the Break's Over." I think it's during the second verse (?) when there's a little twin guitar action where each guitar is playing a slightly different take on the main little riff. The pic disc seems to emphasize one of the guitars while the reissue emphasizes the other. Plus sometimes the mix just seems a bit overpowering in general. I'm not disappointed or anything, I'm super glad to have a pressing without the surface noise my pic disc has, and overall I'm pleased with the release. I guess it's just....different
  5. I dunno, I think my system tends to emphasize the low end to begin with, so when I get an album with particularly accentuated bass in the mix it's just that much more noticeable If anything, I'd say this reissue's mids are underwhelming in comparison? You're probably right, I guess I must have gotten used to the way I thought the album was "supposed" to sound, and now this repress is totally different. Still trying to process it I guess haha
  6. Spun my copy today. Gotta say, it looks absolutely gorgeous. But after comparing it to my pic disc version, I think I actually like might like the mastering on the pic disc loads better. Maybe it's just me, but the reissue seems louder by comparison, a bit heavier on the low end, and I guess just more compressed sounding. Anyone else able to compare guys? Are my ears deceiving me? o_0
  7. Hello all! Been trolling, posting around VC for a little while now, made a few buys from VCers but this is my first time selling. I'm looking to get rid of my copy of C&C's Afterman double LP set. It's the version that included both albums on gold and silver vinyl housed in a hardbound art book. Only played once each, I'd say it's in pretty sweet condition. If you're interested go ahead and PM me an offer and thanks for looking
  8. I'd say my fave album so far has gotta be Gutter, followed by either Hot Damn or TBD. I may have to reconsider that after listening to this new one, it. is. KILLER. So heavy, really diggin Bryan Fallon's contribution on Old Light. Monstrous riffage, no filler, what's not to love? Got my purple copy in the mail today, arrived in pristine condition! My only complaint is that the inner sleeve is a really thin paper printed lyric sleeve that got a bit of a split in in on the way over, but the purple color came out really nice! More of a lavender, guess I was expecting the translucent purple that P!ATD's Pretty. Odd. had. It's actually closer to the purple Kanye's Graduation boot if anyone has seen those.
  9. Guessing nobody else was really a fan of Folie a deux? I'll admit it was quite lavish, but I think Folie was kind of the next logical step after the direction they took with IOH. It was wonderfully composed, grand, ambitious and in my humble opinion, their magnum opus. Just my thoughts, but we can all certainly agree that IOH kicked absurd amounts of ass
  10. Man I saw Deafheaven in San Antonio this past week and holy hell was it an experience! I saw George chilling with this older lady before the show started, and then once they came on I saw that lady in the crowd again. She was clearly pretty drunk, and she kept yelling "GEORGE CLARK! GEORGIE! GEORGIE PORGIE!" and the whole time I'm thinking, "who the hell is this lady?" Totally not metal at all, but it was pretty darn funny XD Midway through the show, George gives a shoutout to the audience and thanks his Aunt Lisa (or Linda?) for coming out to see him Got a chance to chat up George and Kerry after the show too, they're both super chill dudes and they even signed a dollar bill for me since I forgot to bring my record with me
  11. Hey guys! Lately I've been thinking about getting a new set of speakers but I'm not sure what would be right for my setup. I've got a Technics SL 1400 MK2 turntable with a Shure M447 cartridge and a Kenwood KR6600 stereo. The speakers I"m using right now are (don't hate me) just cheap Logitech Z506 surround sound speakers I got from best buy (hence my desire to upgrade). The one thing I do really like about the speakers is the included subwoofer which gives me awesome bass when I want it, so I do wish I could keep that. I listen to a lot of punk/pop punk as well as hardcore and a bit of hip hop, so I'd like to get something with a clear upper end that can still deliver a bass kick. If at all possible, I'd like to spend in the 200-300 dollar range, but I suppose I'm not opposed to going a tad over budget if it's worth it. Any help or suggestions you guys could offer would be greatly appreciated!
  12. Aw man, I just realized I made the 666th post on this thread! Well that made my day XD
  13. I dunno, I own both and the pic disc has a bit too much surface noise for my taste. Maybe just because when I got the pic disc it had been sitting on a clearance shelf for something like six years but I gotta go with the red reissue for sound quality. Of course, I'd love to have the SV version but I'll take what I can get
  14. HT has the standard and deluxe version on the site, I actually picked up my standard edition in store as well
  15. HT had it about three(?) or so weeks ago at my store. Picked it up, but I'm pretty certain it's sold out online now
  16. Aaaaaaannnnnddd....Me too! I ordered from KRM and got the clear/white splatter variant I thought the swirl was the coolest looking version but hey, I ended up with the rarest variant and it still plays the same music so I'm not gonna throw a fit
  17. Same here. I used to fall squarely into the "post-Jane" camp but lately I've grown much more appreciative of their earlier material. I bounce all over the place when it comes to picking a record from their catalog to spin. That being said, I am beyond excited to receive this and give it a play!
  18. As someone who has only been listening to Converge for the past two years, I gotta say I'm really liking the older stuff. It took a while for me to get into Converge, and it took even longer before I could really get into the pre-When Forever... material. As of late, I've been revisiting the band' earlier work and finding that sometimes I'm in the mood to listen to that over newer Converge. There's really something about the rawness and serious energy that I really dig
  19. Yeah pretty much. But their soundscapes are so rich, it's hard to not appreciate
  20. I only found out about this band when I randomly read this thread about a month ago but holy hell do they kick ass! I had to get Roads to Judah and I PO'd Sunbather and I really can't wait to spin em both. Also, my girlfriend s a big Explosions in the Sky fan and she said Sunbather reminded her of EITS but with screaming
  21. Wow, shipping already? I thought these weren't supposed to be physically available until June 14th or somesuch?
