  1. I hate when certain bidders hike up the price drastically before the sale even ends. Like this ebay auction for a Mars Volta Deloused LP. It started off at $10, but then some dumbass kept on bidding and increasing the price. I'm wondering if it's the seller with a different account.. http://www.ebay.com/itm/MARS-VOLTA-DE-LOUSED-COMATORIUM-RARE-VINYL-LP-STILL-SEALED-/220920839837?pt=Music_on_Vinyl&hash=item336fe87e9d#ht_1688wt_1344

either that or some idiot trying to find out what the reserve is.

Probably the latter, but who knows. I DO know that any seller with a reserve price over $130 is probably not someone I'll buy from.

  2. Re: Boston - they get a bit of a bad rap because Campbell's kid is on the team so some people think they get preferential treatment, and they're full of scumbags like Lucic and Chara. No one outside of Boston likes them. I do like Tim Thomas though. It's such a feel-good story for how hard he had to work.

    I can agree with this.

That's what I figured. If your naming Bruins scumbags you left out Marchand. They are sort of the perfect team for that town though.

  3. Don't ask me why, but as a lifelong Yankee fan IChrysalis is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a pathway to self- sufficiency for homeless and ...

've liked the Nationals too for the past 4 or so years, again I don't know why, but I'm really proud of the players they are producing and I don't know about the 2012 season, but I can bet you come 2013 they will be a top contender and not just for the WC, but against the Phillies for the NL East.

It's just cool to watch basement teams put it together through work and talent. Same reason I never really root against the Rays or the Royals. Unless they all same like a bunch of shitbags.

Whoever commented on the Lackey contract. Yes. It looked bad since day one.

  4. Question for you guys. Outside of Boston what is the general perception of the Bruins.

Perhaps said more simply: If your not a Bruins fan, what do you all think of them?

I'm a Bs fan but come by it honestly, been hearing more and more negative buzz about this team and wanted to get some folks perspectives to satisfy my own curiosity.

  5. I don't think Gio Gonzalez is all that great, but it does give Washington a decent starting three. They might be a bit of a contender this year.

Frankly I've been waiting all off-season to read that Lackey is no longer a member of the Red Sox. Probably ain't going to happen but oooooof, is that a bad contract.

  6. Hopefully this ends up similar to the DiceK situation. They say he has top of the rotation type of stuff but so did DiceK and Darvish isnt exactly pitching the the greatest players in the world every time he goes out there either.

As a Sox fan, I can tell you I don't wish a DiceK situation on ANYONE.

    Total shitshow from day one.

  7. I search, but I missed a thread like this feel free to link me.

Headed to Boston for the Frozen Fenway hockey games in a couple weeks and wondering what shops are still going strong in the area. It's been years.

I know Weirdo and Armageddon are both in Cambridge. And there is a bunch of shops around Mass Ave / Boylston / Newberry etc.

Curious to hear what you all like. I'm into a lot of genres but a good contemporary selection is key. Not looking for anything from the 70s / 80s / 90s for the most part.

  8. the original Eastmen and Laird penned and drawn TMNT from the mid 80's.

Yes. I read these so many times when I was younger. Kriss, what Batman stories would you recommend? I grew up Marvel and occasionally bought some Image comics but rarely, if ever, read any Batman stuff.

I have an understanding of the character so should I start with early stuff or are there self-contained arcs to work through?

  9. I wonder why they chose to pursue Darvish for so much and not Wilson? That is assuming that they sign him for more than a 25 million contract.

Again, I wonder if it is due to potential baseball related revenue. If they speculate that Darvish has a higher upside, or about equal as Wilson, then maybe interest from a new market tipped the scales.

Or maybe Wilson got more years than they wanted to offer but they had the money so this is somewhat of a contingency plan.
