  1. Hmmm. I'd love to sell mine, but I want conformation that the Deleted Art box set is coming out. I love this record, but it's hard to keep with people willing to pay big $$$ on it.

It's not my news to share but Im feeling pretty confident about a 5LP set next year.

  2. Looks the the Bosox are up to the same tricks as always. Trying to talk crap about the yankees to get some pub. I honestly think that the Sox operation might be the worst one in baseball.

I'm not trying to be a huge Sox apologist here but we really ought to hate the sports news media, at least in this instance. They turn this shit into spectacle.

  3. Everything Ive seen today says Pujols is staying put. He should stay.

I'm glad. That is awesome news.

Sounds like CJ is down to your Angels and the Rangers. I gotta figure they fight pretty hard to keep him. They have a nice young rotation shaping up but Wilson would be a big loss.

Think the Marlins are done yet? Sounds like Hanley is potentially moving so who the hells knows.

  4. Hostels are a great way to meet people. A lot of them have shared rooms, like quads, doubles, what have you, so you can meet a lot of like-minded folks.

Being courteous is the biggest tip like other people said, but if this counts as a tip, save a little emergency cash stash for a couple nights if at all possible. There isn't much worse than thinking your going to couch surf, striking out and walking around the city until the sun comes up. Done that in Montreal a few times and shit gets old real quick.

  5. . Can't remember the last time they made a big splash during the hit stove.

BJ Ryan. Still one of the worst signings in the past 20 years. Matthews and Hampton might be the only worse ones.

Ha Ha Ha. Forgot about Ryan. That up there. Lackey is starting to make a short list as well

  6. Pretty sure he wants to sign with someone who has a chance of at least making the playoffs. He wont sign with Baltimore.

I think so too BUT his agent is Scott Boras.

Fielder said money was not an issue and he wants to go where he will be comfortable. Not sure what that means exactly but over-paying may not be enough. Despite Boras. Interesting to hear the Jays in the mix on him. Can't remember the last time they made a big splash during the hit stove.

  7. I think it is possible Pujols stays in St. Louis. They have a 9-year offer on the table for a crazy amount of money. Frankly I'm not sure what else the guy wants.

It may have been clear but to make my opinion explicit, I don't think Fielder is going to hold up well. You're dead on about AL teams who can DH him in a few years.

  8. The Marlins always seem to go out and build a good team and do well for a few years then all of a sudden dump all their players and start over. Seems like its been happening since they came into the the league.

I don't follow the Marlins too closely but weren't a lot of their player dumps young guys they no longer could afford to keep? It's sort of a funny situation because they spend for players to keep them in contention, in hopes that it will renew interest in the franchise. But they are in Miami, so you know, it doesn't really work out.

Both these acquisitions seem little dicey too me. Reyes with the injury risk and 3 years on ANY closer can bite you.

  9. I really wish we werent waiting until february for the next episodes I feel like as a viewers as a whole are loosing hype about the show due to this. :/ I wont though.

If this starts Feb and Mad Men starts March will TWD be the lead in to MM? That would be... strange. Anyone read why the hell they broke this season up?

  10. I'm looking for Pliney the Elder and can get pretty much anything midwest, especially Cleveland area stuff (Great Lakes, Hopping Frog, Thirsty Dog, etc)

I had my first an only Pliny last year. Happy to report it was as good as advertised.

Related to the thread. I'm interested in trading on a less specific level. For example, IPAs for the midwest for your beverage of choice from the Northeast. Brands aren't important to me, just like to try new things.

If anyone wants a VT or New England "grab bag" or something, let me know.

  11. The reason straight edge records go for so much is because straight edge people don't blow their money on booze.I started keeping track of my spending last month and found out I spent 294.74 on booze. It was a pretty standard drinking month so if you multiple it by 12 months it is 3,536.88. That is a lot of records.

Dang, i need to stop drinking.

At least consider keeping it to set periods, like parties or the weekend. I'm literally saving $300 a month as well. Still won't get you that Floorpunch record though.
