Holy Shit! there were 1,400 people on bikes riding through the streets of Venice, Marina Del Rey & Santa Monica last night. It was the most fun I've had in a while. I would say cyclocross. The Sirrus for all intents and purposes could be a cyclocross bike, combining aspects of a road bike with off-road tires and stuff. I also completely back the "just get a bike" sentiment as getting out there is the important part

That looks cool. Whatever you get just get measured first so you know it will be a good fit. Carbon fiber might be a little overkill for casual riding but everybody likes nice stuff it's just more expensive. I have an old 15 speed Cannondale road bike and it's awesome. Check out bikesdirect.com they have cool/cheap stuff. Kyle let's just get this bike so we can be together always.
